Safe: Put it in a box and nothing happens
Euclid: Put it in a box and it might escape
Keter: Put it in a box and it escapes
Thaumiel: Is the box
Neutralized: Can't be put in a box because it doesn't exist anymore
Apollyon: The box is on fire, everything's on fire, we're all dead
Archon: Could be put in a box, but probably shouldn't be
Explained: Is in the box of science
Pending: Not enough is known to put in a box
Esoteric: Only in a box if it's convenient
Decommissioned: Banned from the box

One Archon class SCP is The Specter , who cannot be contained because after he was contained once, crime all around the world skyrocketed and the justice forces (police, security, government, etc) in the world became lax and unwilling to stop crime, even if it happened right in front of them.

Safe, Euclid, Keter, Thamuel, and Apollyon are the most used/known object classes.

Honestly I think the archon class could be used more, its a really cool concept

@Coolguy8945 4 years ago

Finally somebody got it right about how difficult it is to contain

Some of these SCPs can benefit human society by curing diseases etc but are locked up instead.Also the "God" SCP is satient and can move in and out at will and is still classify as safe though.

"A cat who randomly switches places with another cat anywhere on earth" Did you come up with that or is that an actual scp?

@kingofawesomeness5375 2 years ago

An scp could literally be an abstract idea that has no other manifestation besides the abstract realm, that only exists when you're not thinking about it. It can also be a bulldog that drools infinitely. It's tough to classify these things.

@Bush_Dude 4 years ago

It should be noted that the Decommissioned object class is now used to refer to SCPs that were intentionally destroyed by the Foundation instead of being contained.

Two Notes:
So when has Archon been a sort of "main/sub-main" SCP class alongside Safe and Keter, don't get me wrong Archon is my favorite esoteric class and I'm glad that it's recognized that same way as Appolyon or Thaumial as a sort of sub-main class, buts its still weird how all of the sudden its considered a main class

Also shouldn't Thaumial make more sense as a classification of SCPs that can be used to the advantage of the foundation to both contain other SCPs and/or help the foundation find SCPs to then contain somewhere else, I e like an SCP GPS of sorts, that way certain SCPs like the Tickle Monster and Eye Pods don't need to be reclassified. Does that make sense?

What is the difference between Ticonderoga and Archon?
Edit: Wait I realize now. Ticonderoga cannot be contained and isnt contained, Archon can be contained and isnt contained. Main difference is whether they can be contained or not.

its ironic how the decommissioned class got decommissioned

I’m very glad to see the box analogy in this, it’s one of my favorite methods of explaining the base classes to my friends or anyone else who aren’t familiar with them.

@PurpleEntity11 4 years ago

If you lock it in a box, and it is the box it is thaumiel, I locked it in itself, if you lock it in a box and decide not to lock it in the box, it is still in the box till further action, I found these examples sort of funny

“A button that can end the world when it’s pressed is safe” 💀💀💀

Edit : Guys stop being mad at me, I just think a button that has world ending capabilities being designated Safe is very cursed

Explaining the containment classes using a box:
Safe: you put the thing in a box and it calmly stays there
Euclid: you put the thing in a box but you don't know if it's going to escape
keter: you put the thing in a box and it actively tries to get out of the box
thaumiel: it IS the box
neutralized: self-explanatory
apollyon: there is no way to contain the thing in a box
archon: we could put the thing in a box but we aren't gonna
explained: also self-explanatory
pending: self-explanatory 3
esoteric: idfk
decommissioned: self-explanatory 4

I'll put this in a box to do the test, wait no

Risk class is used to tell how dangerous the SCP is. Disruption separately shows how much risk of veil break an SCP has.

Your explanation is making it easy to understand and study them, thank you for that since i wanted to know more about them and ones i never even heard of.
