Thank you Sir. I am in rural Australia and I love Stephen Fry because he uses his own mind to discover the world and will NOT be bullied by the religious of his society. All power to you.
My problem is people force their relegion on their children.Children should not be allowed to sign up to any religion(or be forcer,or persuaded to).It should be not allowed until they are old enough to vote.
Raised Anglican by adoptive parents who simply cherished the good in faith. They, and I, found great friendships through Church. Don't think I ever really believed and in my fifties now, do not believe. My teen daughters were raised without religion and as caring, loving young women, they don't lack the community conscience needed to contribute to society. Religion isn't needed for that personal attribute.
It takes a special type of person to be as posh, privileged and educated as this man yet still be so connected to and loved by the common man. I could listen to him chat for hours on end.
If you feel like you have to know something you don’t know, you (A) take a short cut and claim to know what you don’t know. (B) join in the hard, multi-generational project of working toward understanding. (C) admit that you don’t know and you get on with the rest of your life.
B and C are honorable options.
