I got one for my bday about 2 wks ago, The V30 Terence. I have NO IDEA how to play it yet, but I now know my keys and notes and how to read music already I am just having trouble getting it alll in one basket at the moment, but its fun. I dont know anything about PIANOS either, but this has been a fine learning tool for a beginner who doesnt know which end is which on a piano. It sounds good, Is more than loud enough for practice, has a built in metronome and lots of background stuff to run as well. I just keep it on classical though while I am learning notes and keys. I love mine ๐ถ๐ถ๐๐
I'm sure that the intention of this design is to give travelling musicians something they can tinker with, silently, in their hotel rooms. Evidently, the onboard speakers are very poor. With all cheap digital pianos you can still connect a Y cable from the headphone socket, this to some better amplification. I hate this situation, but it is what it is. Models like Alesis Prestige Elite and Kawai ES60 are good exceptions - inexpensive dps which have proper lineouts, but of course, they don't fold.
DPs with "semi-weighted" keys simply have stronger springs in them, which is disappointing, but is nicer than cheaper sprung actions. We are all waiting for the first truly weighted action folding pianlo to come along. It will be heavy, but this can be alleviated a bit by reducing the number of keys. 88 is way too many keys in this sort of intrument. 73 keys would be ideal, but 61 would do.
Thank you for the review. You were the only person who tried to connect the piano to the DAW, and that was very helpful. I also liked your explanation. subscribed with both my accounts. :)
I just got it to use with the Meta Quest 3 in order to learn piano. The midi functionality and the price as well as the fact that it was tested and confirmed to work with the PianoVision app is what made me choose it. It's exciting to see you use it as a controller - maybe I'll be able to figure that out too.
Nice video, man! would it be really bad to use it live as a MIDI controller? are there any drawbacks besides the low quality in the material of the keys?
It seems like its the X88C model. Its one of those basic model from the comp. They have much advanced model like X88e which from what i read is a whole new level from these (tho i doubt if it can match the more expensive Roland FX30 or Yamaha Y125)
