For this interview, Arshan sat down with SINN6R in London to discuss his journey as an artist, the experiences that shaped his individuality, and the making of his latest project, #FEDERAL++. Together, they explored SINN6R’s upbringing in Southeast London, his early connection to underground rap and UK drill, and how watching music on YouTube eventually inspired him to start making music himself. SINN6R reflected on his early SoundCloud releases, finding his own voice, and the importance of having complete creative control over his music, while breaking down the dark production, rapid flows, and frustration that fueled #FEDERAL++. Along with this, he opened up about management setbacks, label frustrations, stepping away from releasing music, and the lessons he learned about independence and trusting the people around him. Finally, Arshan and SINN6R discussed his collaborations with artists like Lancey Foux and EsDeeKid, the success of “Tapped In,” the North American artists influencing his listening habits, and his upcoming project, Problem Child, including the meaning behind its title and the harder, slower direction he’s taking his sound.
