Was it just me, or did anyone else like the carving as a body with a block head? lol

Please never retire the 1×1series .  So much fun

Loving this and fun fact,  a lot of my little guys have ended up facing to the side but unintentionally 😂😂😂😂😂

I wish I was good as you. I can't keep my knives sharp enough I guess .

Yes doug! What a great addition to this series. Being comfortable to riff off a design is a real challenge for beginners..
Also the nature/light hearted intros to your videos are great. They separate you from the rest :)

Thank you Doug, another fantastic tutorial! I love the series here (ok, I love all of them). Thank you for taking us through the progression. No matter how much I think I already know, I learn a ton with each of your videos. I usually carve-along to them as a way to better learn. I really appreciate your creativity, fun approach, and willingness to share all of this with the community here. You always do such a great job of teaching and adding in interest and humor - perfect combination. Looking forward to the next installment - all in good time.

You really are the Bob Ross’ of carving. I was surprises you cake this fast with a new video. Made 3 little men sinds your first video, and looking forward to making this one. The eyes are always the point where i think “oh no, not the eyeballs” because it’s so tiny 😂.  Thanks for all your effort Doug! I really enjoy your video’s

Good morning Linker. I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart because thanks to you I discovered a new world, obviously that of carving. I like it very much and I can't wait to finish my room in the garage where I work the wood. I love seeing my gnomes or characters at home, they give me serenity.

Your talent Doug is unbelievable, and your paint jobs too, keep up the great work and You  and the family stay safe and warm and  thanks for the video.

I enjoy watching your videos I just did my first little mushroom and it made me smile.  Thank you.  Iam 69 and have stage four cancer.  My god bless you and keep the videos coming

the squirrels would make a feast of that feeding bed in my backyard :)

Thanks Doug for yet another easy to follow guide to endless hours of carving fun! Could you please show us how to do a little guy with an arm up holding a (sign, balloon, rod, golf club, stick, boomerang… or whatever!)?

Please make more of these videos! I'm trying to branch out my caricatures and this really helps. I'd love to see how you do beards and facial hair next.

Doug great job. You have simplified turning the head so that I can follow easily compared to how I was first shown. Thanks again

Great!!! Still can't do the eyes 😅😅😅

This series and you are amazing! I have been practicing  artistic creativity for over 50 years and always to the exclusion of human or animal sculpture. You removed the intimidation and opened a door to an art form I believed was inaccessible to me. Thank you!!!

Cherping sparrow and snow birds
You are my best teacher
Doug Linker thanks

Perfect timing … thanks Doug .. I’m really struggling with turning my heads slightly.. I keep meaning to but bottle it (wimp out)  and go for the safe route 😂

Man I love these but sometimes they can be so frustrating. I think I am following and what I get looks like a creature from a bad horror flick. Hahaha but it is the process that is fun of course. I think Doug is actually a robot who plugs in at night because who else can produce the number of carvings he does every week!?!? 😂

This is opening up so much more int the finished carvings look.  Thanks Doug for the way you teach this.
