Just getting into wood carving and wanted to say I appreciate you taking the time to film, edit, and share your work. It's very informative and helpful to us beginners. Thank you very much.

Thanks Doug, I appreciate your investment in materials and your time for checking this out. My most consistent quality wood has been Beavercraft in the 1x1.

These batches of wood are going to be the entry point for a lot of carvers and it's encouraging to know that someone as versed in carving as you would be just as happy to use it along with them.

I turned into a guerilla carver. When staying at a place I often leave an owl or a penguin or so. Sometimes people find it  Sometimes they don't 🤣

The 1x1 series is genius Doug!!! Provides excellent value for learning to carve and is very manageable to hold and cut for beginners!! So glad to hear theres more to come!!! Thank you!!!

I wholeheartedly agree with your stance on the 1x1 series — thoroughly enjoy it. I keep telling myself that I am going to carve as many as I have time to do of each project. Then, just when I’m getting into the groove, you add another 1x1 carving project. BY NO MEANS IS THAT A COMPLAINT!! 😅

Thank you for taking the time to share your passion for carving, whilst educating the masses along the way.

my neighbor planted a row of pines 20 years ago. they matured into 50 foot specimens that now have to come down. Lots of wood to practice with.

My wife got me carving stuff for christmas. And that beaver craft wood has been really good for me

@ 9:12 The way you said 'China' was hilarious. It sounded like a Trump impression.

Doug thank you for putting your time and energy into showing us these results.  I’ve been buying exclusively from Robin Heinecke. Woods. Family own and operated  in  Cumberland Wisconsin. great service. cut to size

Thank you, great as always. I can't help but want to support anything from The Ukraine at the moment, so I'm glad the wood has a good review.

Hi Doug, CANUSA wood from Amazon is also good, with the occasional odd hard piece but wood is like a box of chocolates you never know what you’re gonna get….till you put a knife too it. Happy carving!!

Thank you for this video and the 1x1 series! It's really motivating! Not a waste, this is a great reference to know there are good products with some caveats, which is good to know for those like me who are a bit lost when looking for blocks to start.

Now nobody will ever ask again which wood to buy...💚🇬🇧🌱 great work Mr Linker👊

The last two I got off of Amazon was ridiculously hard. Wish I would have been that lucky. :)

Thank you for all your video’s Doug. I’m new in carvingworld and totally addicted to carving thanks to your tutorials. You have a great way of teaching. Greetings from the Netherlands!

i already watched this but i'm back just to show some more support, appreciate it all!!

Thanks for the commentary on the various brands of wood.

Great info, thanks Doug.

Having 50 years woodworking experience, I’ve tossed and burned thousands of BF of great carving blanks. Darn it.
