Rule #1: open browser and check on Tuesday morning for new Mynda video. Thanks Mynda!

I retired 7 years ago after spending 40 years in IT. I worked a lot of hours typically, an extra working day per week on average. If I had discovered Mynda’s Excel courses when I was still working I’m sure I would have saved 100s of hours of non-paid “overtime”. I still use Excel for personal reasons today, and I can’t get enough of Mynda’s videos, I am totally hooked. God, I need help. Lol.

What I like about your techniques is a focus on Clarity! That's why I like watching your content. When I did an Engineering University degree in the 1990s we were using Lotus123 and Excel. We were taught when building spreadsheets for Engineering formulas to keep it all split up so the elements of more complex formulas are calculated in their own columns so you could watch the data build through the algorithm terms and can actually see what is happening. This helped with debugging and also understanding what is happening. If you get it wrong it could be dead people or lots of money wasted. The stakes are high in Engineering. So clarity and understanding is important in what you are doing. I can't but not see this concept as exactly the same as 'Helper Columns'. It is actually an Advanced Technique and not a beginner technique. People who think you stuff massive formulas in one cell like a black box situation because it seems 'smarter' - miss a lot of points. Thanks - very interesting article and sparked a philosophical moment for me on Engineering!

Helper columns just make your life so much easier, you can build things out gradually, spot mistakes way faster, and tweak stuff without breaking everything. Great video Mynda!

Helper columns--should be an ego free zone. (Brilliant examples...as always.TY)

I personally really dislike working with excel due to the overall UX clunkiness, but your videos are so helpful for getting past the UX hurdles that they actually become enjoyable to watch

It's incredible how you've turned the chore of learning in-depth excel knowledge into something enjoyable!

I have watched many videos about "LET" function and still did not get it fully. With this video and concept of "LET = Hidden helper colums" I finally understood! :) thanks!
