Don't you just love it when you think you are reasonably accomplished at something (e.g., using Excel) and then somebody (e.g., Alan) drops something -- no pun intended -- that makes you instantly realize that this feature is something that you always wished Excel included in its feature set. And it does! I am always looking for these kind of efficiency tools but somehow this dot operator and drop function both escaped me. Thanx!

The magic of youtube recommendations brought me here. Using excel for something about 2 decades made me believe this video is going to be another tutorial for beginners. Was I wrong! I wish I knew these features earlier!

I think the "Format As Table .. " is a much better option. You get named cells, ranges, etc. And warnings if your formulas are inconsistent

I'm slowly starting to pick my jaw up off the floor. The level of sophistication of the features used is incredible. I used to consider myself someone who went beyond the standard Excel features, but this makes me retract that statement.

THIS WAS THE 1ST TIME I CAME TO KNOW ABOUT THE "DROP" FROMULA EXISTS IN EXCEL. LOTS OF LOVE MATE FOR DROPPING THE "." & "DROP" BOMB. BRING MORE!!

Great video. It seems like Excel should support 1-sided columns and rows so for instance: =b4:b for the range of cells from b4 to the end

The average user would not understand what is going on if they saw this in a spreadsheet. Trimrange is much more descriptive

I thought I was up to date with time saving tricks - but having stumbling across this video I have been proven wrong! This is an awesome set of tricks to which I will be making use of straight away in my tender evaluations. Previously I wanted to have formulas that drive my header rows in a table but couldn't so had to abandon that approach and now with these dynamic formulas I can 'fill my boots' as I don't need a table to make my formulas dynamic. Thank you so much!!!!!!
