My griwn daughter and her best friend went on a weekend camping trip after college graduation a few years ago with college friends. Everyone had been asigned tasks commensurate with their skills, I made sure my daughter could perform her tasks adequately.  And went over her gear, after which ,I bought our two girls each a top grade memoryfoam mattress and cheapo mylar blankets, plus higher grade mylar configured as a poncho. The weekend ended up colder and way wetter than anticipated.  Our daughter and best friend were the only ones that were comfortable and warm enough to get any sleep and the only ones that didn't  come home soaked. The mylar blankets saved their weekend.

When you are hungry you'll eat anything. Including eating it dry if you have to.

Ah well, the preppers. My grandma survived two world wars, went thrhough years of hunger and fled from the Russian with nothing but a suitcase in one hand and my father in the other. For decades, she was hording wheat and sugar that we eventually had to throw away. No big loss. But she was an experienced prepper. What you really need? A small bag containing your key documents! Your passport, the family book, evidence of any diplomas or titles and your rights to land or whatever property rights you may have. That's the key. Have those ready as those documents are truly irreplacable. They epitomize who you are and what your rights are.
All the rest: just forget about it. You are not surviving in the woods for long. Nor will you be hunting deer or boar. Food storage should be based on actual day-to-day products you use and replace anyway. Rice is an exellent energy source, keeps for years, costs next to nothing and needs minimal energy and water to cook. Water, sugar, wheat, canned beans, an outdoor grill and a heat source for the inside. A 2,5 gallon tank of liquid alcohol for a camping stove heats up water and food efficiently. A bit of wood and charcoal in the shed, or two cannisters or propane gas for the outdoor grill. That's all you need.

I built a gravity filter system,  I have purify tablets and pool shock to make bleach.  I have two weeks plus of stored tap with a creek nearby.
