@kitchensbyrannes, thank you so much for the videos, and all your good advice.
I recommend your videos for anyone putting together a kitchen, and especially going through the history.
I just put together our kitchen here in Ireland, with 7 base cabinets, fridge, ovens unit and dishwasher along with upper cabinets. I found your Island videos great, and had the ipad beside me to reference your videos for all the build.
Getting the rails up correctly was the most difficult part, it was a new wall with insulated boards, so I had to go through to the concrete, shim and cut a section where the wall came out.
(The kitchen is 4.5m long)
When designing our build, I made sure the kitchen went against one wall, with the Island parallel. No low cabinets (literally one deep cabinet over the ovens) 19 drawers, so everything comes out to you. I was fed up with crawling around inside lower cabinets to find stuff in the back!

Awesome video! Would love to watch more like this, even for simpler setups (e.g. wall cabinets + simple island/peninsula).

Great video! You did my big pantry cabinets and, later this year, I’ll give you a shout about a wet bar/kitchenette in my basement. Project is underway.

Great video and craftmansship as always!

This video was really helpful to understand what a reasonable timeframe is for an installation. Also, the complexity of a peninsula with a gap for dishwasher, back panel structure and that insert in the other corner are unique problems solved. I installed a kitchen for my kid in a condo. The rails were complex because part of the wall was concrete and part was metal studs, and long enough that two rails were needed. It took some days and both of us were thinking I was too slow but now I know it was a normal amount of time considering the hurdles. We did a long wall, of uppers,lowers, and 2 24”pantry units with fridge cabinet. Opposite, a small straight peninsula with double side panels contrasting colour meant to look more thick and styled. It took time on an unlevel floor, but it’s fantastic. Sending you a super thanks.

I could probably learn a thing or two before I start building my cupboards in my van . Wanda on wheels.

@BonBaisers 8 months ago

Well done for the peninsula ! Looks like you ended up with a solid plan : build the anchor frame on the floor, make the cabinets as one solid piece, anchor them to the floor then lastly do the panels.

Plywood strips are a nice idea for furring out the back panels on the island, I've never been a big fan of the ikea panel attachment systems. I'm pretty sure you can save a lot of headache measuring by just running the end strips long then placing the middle strip above to mark where they intersect as long as your cabinets are all squared up.

how did you instal the side panel upper cabinets (I have the the flat irsta lights), after your tool introduction it was just there, so I couldnt see how you did that

@BZ1340 8 months ago

I was curious on your saw set up for cutting panels and fillers. Is it track saw or table saw and what blade you’re using for no chip out.

@robbiestewart240 4 months ago

Haha the easy part is the drawers , 😂 I currently have a problem with the bottom drawers ,the bottom of the face doesn't cover the white of the carcass even when adjusting them up and down at the side .any advice would be appreciated

@anonymusmester 6 months ago

Hi Sir,

I am not sure if there are cover panels to the sides of the hood.
Do you recommend having panels there (bodbyn off-white, white cabinets)? I will also have such headspace over my sink, and I have the same question for that.

Thanks for your great work, and all the informative videos.
