This is from the township I grew up in/still live in. The house is just a few minutes from mine and it still horrifies me every time I drive past it.

Hannah, when you broke down talking about Willie, I lost it myself. Lord have mercy! 😭😧😲

I met the youngest son while in a juvenile prison. I was in the hole and he got the room beside me. He was severely mutilating himself. 20 yrs later I met another brother in another prison. He told me to read the book. No words after reading it. Just Anger

Ok so i managed not to cry UNTIL your brilliant ending about God not having any hands for the babies at the house.

I have subscribed.

So after Hannah gives a brief description of the house that includes chains hanging from the ceiling, Suruthi tells us to "strap in" and I feel like that's the last time I'm going laugh for the next 2 hours.

True crime affecinado....and this is by FAR the most gruesome true crime story ive ever encountered.

I remember reading a thick book with lots of pictures about this whole family and everything they've done. It's fucking crazy.

Hannah got me choked up on the one.  😢

God, this story is horrendous. I can’t believe this actually happened. Absolutely shocking, my heart breaks for all the babies 😭

I have listened to a lot of true crime. This one was definitely the most disturbing one I’ve ever heard.

I had not heard of this case. And the only reason I could stomach this episode is y’all’s lovely accents. ❤ from south Louisiana

You did an amazing job re telling this    I love this book.   The best horror stories are the true ones

this is my family and im completly discusted by eddie and his wife she recently died n prison right where she belongs n hell im glad the kids did not turn out like they needed alot of help & therapy to be in the real world

I am in the middle of listening to this video, but I am his great niece. Nothing I’m proud of. I didn’t know my great grandparents, but I have never heard anything of the, doing anything bad to their kids. At least from the stories my nana (Nelly Hanft). What I heard was when he first went to prison is why he turned into this person. Which is a bs excuse. I have also heard stories that he burnt down a couple houses for insurance and that he was defrauding the government due to being on SSI. He was not disabled. He was very much an able bodied person.

I was Kimberly’s (Hog) age when this all was going on. I went to his house often with my nana. He was weird. He gave me a dollar to give him a kiss on the cheek every time I saw him. I believe now he was slowly trying to groom me.

At the time we never questioned his behavior. He was good at hiding who he truly was. As far as I am aware he never did anything to me. I would play with their kids and they would do hide and seek. They would have hiding spots between the walls. Little cubby holes. In the bathroom underneath the sink was a hole that they could drop down into a closet with a ton of dirty laundry. In one of the bathrooms they told me they use the curtain to wipe theirselves after going number 2. Even as a kid I knew this was not right and immediately told my nana. I also heard about the wedding from the kids. They made it seem like it was a game. I remember them trying to convince me to do it. I never heard about the honeymoon though. I NEVER knew what was going on with Lana (Angel). This shit was crazy.

Yet again, no one ever questioned anything. Why? I have no idea. As an adult I can look back and see how off this was and how many red flags there was.  I thought as a kid, wow they have some awesome hiding spots! It really didn’t all click until I read The House of Secrets.

When he went on the run my school was notified in case he would try and kidnap me. Thank God that never happened; However, I am 100% certain had he done anything to me my mom and nana would have killed him.

When he went to jail he was still in contact with my nana. As an adult he kept getting trying to get in touch with me. Kept wanting my address to send me letters and I would not allow it.

Nonetheless he was an absolute sociopath. He had control over that entire family. I know he died while on death row due to natural causes. I don’t fully support the death penalty but he deserved it. I’m sad the families he destroyed did not get to see him put to death. They did not get the appropriate closure. May (Estella/mother) has died in prison. She got life in prison. She was just as disgusting as Eddie. Anyone who could subject their children to what she did, also needed the death penalty. I think Pixie (Estella/eldest daughter) is now out of prison. Even though she was being controlled by him what she did was horrendous and she should have been given life in prison. She killed Skipper on October 19th. A years later I lost my son during delivery on October 19th. Eddie told my nana to tell me he was sorry for my loss. I was so infuriated that he would even have the nerve. I don’t know about the other ones. I would have to google if they are still in prison and their sentences. What they did to Joel was awful. I met him numerous times and he was a nice person. He did not deserve what happened to him. Anyways, that is my story and I am sad to be related to these people.

I read a book on the Sexton family  some years ago. I also read the Book Slow death the David Parker Ray story, and while it's a bit different in the way they committed crimes it's equally as evil & twisted. I've read many stories like these but of them  all these 2 stayed with me.

Ooo perfect timing, got my coffee and I am strapped in! 🙌🏻

Imagine listening to Lana's accounts of life on Caroline Street and then claiming she was somehow Eddie Lee's favorite, Lana's suffered every type of abuse imaginable, her life was a living hell, she was nothing more to Eddie Lee than a pawn to try and sell his Futuretrons manipulation.

All the Sexton siblings, Eddie Lee himself, the authorities and Lowell Caulffiel author of "House of Secrets" all say Pixie was the favorite.

I feel so bad for Joel

This book leaves out alot. Otis Sexton wrote part 2 but it never got published. I could solve the rest if anyone can find the pdf or draft of this book. I live 3 blocks from this house. Ive spent past 8 yrs trying to solve this! Eddie also had a child in 1963-64 with first wife. Then Christopher, Dawn, Shasta and Skipper = Grandpa's kids, not including 1 or 2 more children from his wife's family he took advantage of as well

Good episode, wasn’t familiar with the case but learned a lot
