Another tip for playing antichess: once you're done, do NOT switch to a regular chess game immediately.
You can guess how I figured this one out xd

"you can have it"
"No you can have it"
"No no you have it, its my pleasure"
"No come on you have it"

Here's an idea; Play Martin, but after every game, every piece you lost last game doesn't come back (while Martin's are all restored.) So you slowly lose material based on how many pieces you give up, see how many games you can win. Call it a chess nuzlocke.

being bad at blundering pieces is a 400's dream 🤝

I can't bring myself to play this variant. I can't suck at being good at chess and also suck at being bad at it lol!

26:44 mans has one legal move, proceeds to calculate. Smh😅😅 Calculation is king he says😂😂

So the game is usually won by leading one or two of your opponent's pieces into your territory in such a way that none of your pieces are defending each other. You found this in the last game.

Try to break your pawns out of chaining. Then you can have overly forward pawns to fish out enemy knights. A knight is good to lead around because you can precisely control what captures you offer to it, and most pieces aren't forced to take the knight when your opponent wastes a tempo on a different capture, since they can't mutually attack.

This also means you want to lose your own knights early if possible.

The queen is obviously a decent piece to lead around, but the problem is she has so many options for capturing that she's hard to manipulate precisely. She'll find that one defended piece in your position for sure.

Rooks are good for leading around, since they have fewer options, but you really need your pawns disconnected and your king, queen, and rooks away to keep their rook alive.

This game is full of forcing moves, so the key really is to find the most forcing line for your opponent, minimizing their choices at each step by trying to offer exactly one capture that will allow you to set up another and another and another.

Honestly, it already looked like you were getting the hang of that by the last game.

On the upside, you did capture ALL the pieces.

14:23 "We've lost so many games," he's BRAGGING

You already KNOW that it's gonna be a good day when iwantcheckmate posts a 30 minute video

25:27 “He’s beginning to believe”

7:12 promotion to a king is the most bizzarre thing I've seen in chess

25:00 the start of tony becoming hikaru 😭 genuinely laughing like a hyena watching everything play out

It feels like bishops are the strongest (weakest?) pieces in this variant - that is to say the opponent's bishops are strong for you. They have unlimited range but can be controlled fairly easily by selective tile colour use, whereas queens and even rooks frequently present several capture options (thus less forcing lines) when forced into the enemy ranks.

I suck at this variant the most I just cant seem to figure it out. It’s a bit comforting in a way to see a good player like you struggle too lol

20:15 bro Kf2 is right there!

your bishops are your greatest weakness in this format is what I have learned

I like how for every strategy you find, you realize one move later that your opponent can do the same thing 😅

Very fun variant, it felt like something clicked in your brain and you suddenly understood how to get rid of your material for the last two games.

This is how my normal matches go, except I never capture anything
