This was harder than not seeing my drawback at all... :_ohno:Master your opening with ChessReps: chessreps.com/iwantcheckmate

he will never run out of verbs

Funny how opponent with a drawback "stop stalling" run out of time. They should've took this advise to heart

I honestly think you're reviving this variant every time you play it

31:55 That's why you need two escape squares just like you need two mating ideas with the stockfish drawback

y'all worried that he'll run out of variants, I'm worried that he'll run out of cat pictures for the thumbnails

I'm sick of you welcoming me back to the channel, Tony.

You know what? This time, I'm welcoming YOU back to my computer screen, to watch another video!

that first match was CRAZY, pure drawback chess

17:03 THATS MEE!!! IM 100xYGO!! MAMA GET THE CAMERA!! IM FAMOUS!!!

"King to G1, hope they don't notice.."

the hyper accelerated bongcloud at the intro was a cherry on top

6:18 😍 I love when you can just eat the king instead of checkmating, whoever came up with this is a genius

I just had the most hilarious game where I could not capture knights, and my opponent could only capture with knights. Made me wonder what other crazy synergies can occur between drawbacks!

I feel like whenever playing drawback chess, it is so easy to forget that your opponent has a drawback too and think you are doomed when you are really winning.

Since you've seen many drawbacks, maybe you'd like to play some custom games against viewers/friends. A third party could pick the drawbacks for you to make the games extra interesting. The downside of doing this is that you can sort of meta-game your opponent's drawback by what the picker would pick, but maybe it could be fun for a few games. I'd be a chance to play the Stockfish drawback more!

Suggestion: At some point you could do like a tier list of variants you have played.

0:21 reflective: you can only move non-pawns to squares whose opposite square reflected across the center line is occupied
6:49 irresistible: if you can move a piece adjacent to you opponent's king that isn't already, you must, except that you are always permitted to capture their king
11:04 sponsor: chessreps
11:40 leveling up: you can't capture a piece until you've captured its ppredecessor in the list [pawn, knight, bishop, rook, queen, king]
17:03 flatterer: if your opponent moves a pawn, you must move a pawn. if your opponent moves a non-pawn piece, you must move a non-pawn piece {against 100xYGO}
24:56 whites of their eyes: your capturing moves must be of distance 2 or less {against We reveal?} - abort
25:27 left to right: unless you just moved to the rightmost file, you must move to a file to the right of where you last moved {against you reveal I reveal}
27:17 ichthyophobe: you can't make the move that stockfish would make
32:21 siege: you must take at least one of your opponent's rooks by move 20 or you lose

8:27 "and i think i'm fine with losing the knight. i mean i'm not fine with it, i've just lost a piece now for no reason"
15:38 "but okay. we made an artistic choice i guess"
23:57 "but this is a queen, but this is a queen, please!"
24:29 "okay that is like the most nothing-buger draw- is that even a drawback?"
27:23 "you can't make the move that stockfish would make. so i can't play e4, no worries, i play d4 anyways"
31:20 "stockfish is going to tell us that the best move is to capture the king, or you know to re-capture if the king sacs itself or something like that"

chessreps recently added a london course! an actual london, not the jobava. i've been playing the practice games against the ai (unfortunately it only plays d5 and not the indian game, which is what i struggle with), would love to get an account if i could just for the london. for now i guess i'll just spam stafford gambit drills...
nice to see more drawback chess!! it's such a shame that your king didn't have two escape squares, if only it did, i would have loved to see you attempt mate when the king doesn't sacrifice itself like it did last time you had that drawback. amazing video as always, thank you!

22:47
Yes... run Mr King...

So glad to see back to back posts again :) hope you’re doing well brother!

Was the connected rooks drawback not a continuous thing? It seemed like everytime they wanted to capture with the rooks they were connecting them
