Heard cfmoto replaced ktm camshafts with its own design from 800MT Explorer onwards.

Thank you for this video. I'm seriously considering one of these bikes and this is the only honest Review I've found of this bike. I still want one

Hi I have a 2023 mt800. I have done 40000km in 2 1/2years. My bike has be flawless. It sounds like most of your issues are with the service from your dealer. This varies from dealer to dealer. Be happy your in the UK, same bike you get four years warrantee, Australia gets three years, here in New Zealand we only get two years,

Thanks for your honest review. I was interested in this bike, not so much right now...

I bought my CFMoto 800MT about 8 months ago. Getting back into biking after a long hiatus...However, had been riding a 150cc commuter, to work and back. This commute scoot is a CFMoto Leader. It was so cheap I thought, so what if it only lasts a year or  two. Well 12 years and 36 000Kms of commuting later....and it's still going strong and often gets mistaken for a new bike. So I had no hesitation in buying the 800MT, as the tech you get with it compared to the purchase cost....was a very strong argument! A BMW would have been more than double the price. I'm loving the bike. My prior riding experience was still in the carburetor pre-electronic age. So the way this bike handles and rides is astounding. been saved by the front anti-skid at least once. The 790 KTM designed engine is a beast! The bike is an absolute mile eater. It is also very comfortable, a day in the saddle is no probs.

Find the cam story strange? Snapped!? worn cams is one thing....but to snap or "break" the shaft?? You would think a lot more damage would have been done as the other cylinder may have run on? Anyhow, done only 5000Kms on my 800MT, so we will see, but certainly so far, it is proving to be an awesome adventure bike!

Im feckin delighted you showed the dealership for what they are. They should treat every customer as potentially someone with an influential following. I would have considered and have been considering an mt800 as my soon next purchase but now f that. I'll stick with an already depreciated used Japanese engine. I am not forking out for the privilege of being treated like shite. Well done pal.

That is very informative, especially for countries such as Poland - here we have worst customer service you could imagine - besides maybe (maaaybeee) BMW all other manufacturers really do not care.

Thank you very much for the first real and honest review. I’m in the market for a new bike. Seriously thought of buying this one. Not buying it anymore. GS800 instead, even with fewer fruit. I guess the saying that you get what you pay for is true. Thanks again.

Right you are. I’ll get a Honda. Was seriously considering this. Not anymore.

Have had the same problems with dealerships in Australia.  I'd still be riding my bike, but lost confidence in the integrity of the warranty.  Cost me a fortune for warranty repairs, but like you, I couldn't be shagged arguing.  Mind you, I didn't have the extent of issues that you had.

Been very happy with my 2025 E...it's my daily driver and really have no complaints other than the jerky throttle on lower gears which I have adfjust to but a retune is pending

Good gosh the roads are narrow... I guess they were made for horse and buggy. Love the charm but I see how a motorcycle would be your choice to commute... but with the English weather I would not do it. I just bought a 2026 CFMoto iBex 800E.

Thank you for the video. I really wanted the bike. But not anymore. Going for a solid brand. No KTM products in my garage.

I know the feeling, been there done that. I ve had enough bikes in my life to realise eventually manufactures get  it right over time, trick is not to be a development  rider for them. I just buy Japanese, I have a fantastic Honda CB500X,  total reliability and has fairly good resale value, parts  are massive and easy to get. Thanks for your review and thanks for sharing your testimony about your machine. I have heard from friends, your manufactures parts can be a real problem at times. Any way there's always another bike on the horizon with me possibly a Honda NC750X. Good luck on your next decision. Safe riding on those small lanes.

2025 Ibex 800E. At 1200 mi the check engine light came on. It was all downhill from there. Bad valve guide seal, took out the cat and muffler.TWO MONTHS in the shop. At lot like your experience,  the shop was taking their time on reassembly. Very frustrating. And they didn't change the oil after pulling the head. Found a stripped pan bolt too

A quick search suggests there’s major difference between the 2023 Ibex and the 2025/26 Ibex. Good news for the ‘26, not so good news for depreciation?

So .. was it a Bike Sanctuary, the (in)famous garage to avoid if I want to buy CF Moto?

I think right now depreciated Japanese bikes for the same money are better quality in average. The issues you pointed out are real quality issues. The Hondas and Yamahas and Kawasaki etc. At the same price usually don’t show this number of serious issues I think.

Great real world review! The service you received was nothing short of disgusting. The impact on you and your family is unforgivable and anyone looking at CF/KTM warranty should regard it as pointless (unless you have a second vehicle you can use and like to argue). Such as shame as it's a nice looking, solid bike. But it's how you handle issues in my opinion that determine if you stay in business or not. CF really need to step up and get more involved from the looks of things as it's no surprise KTM went the way has.

I see your mistake was buying it through a KTM dealer, they are notorious for dragging the chain and trying to blame the customer and then trying to charge the customer instead of under warranty.  They’re not sold by KTM in Australia and that helps then again I know at least 7 people with this bike for at least 2 years or more and no problems so far
