It makes a change from the large number of ill-informed anti-British videos from American YouTube video makers.

You can hear the British police officer talking - shows the difference in de-escalation methods.

Well yes on holiday .. but like he said .. he knows the feeling of waiting for back up.  Split second decision.

Nice to see our police helping out when not on duty. The shock of hearing an English accent might have been an advantage in bringing the aggressor back to reality!

It's what British people do 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Keep Calm and Carry On Indeed 🫡🫡🫡🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

One of the one billion reasons why UK police are not routinely armed.

Wonderful story. Thanks for sharing this with us, Joel. Cheers, John in Canada

Once a Police Officer, always a Police Officer. That need to protect others never leaves you!

Nice to see a story of unity. 😊

This shows a real British police officer at his best this should be shown in police training in Britain as to what an officer should be.

I’m a retired British Police Officer and I’ve no doubt an Officer from the States on vacation in the UK would have done the same 👍

0:45  When your training can save lives it's not a choice but an obligation to help. I personally havent forgotten the 2 U.S. service members and their friend who  subdued a heavily armed gunman on a high-speed Thalys train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris ib 2015.

Makes me proud to be British❤❤❤❤

Some British police officers have guns, but they are in special units that get called out if a threat increases. Most don't.

An unbreakable Bond

Hello Joel. I commented a few times that my first memory is being called to the TV as a tiny kid, after my mum said my dad was late. He was on TV kicking in the door at an armed siege for colleagues with weapons to storm in. Well done to this chap.
A few years back I rugby tackled a car thief through next door's fence and shouted to the searching police officer outside. He could not understand until I said I just imagined what my dad would have done.

a hero helping another hero.

Talk about the long arm of the law!!!!

My heart is bursting with pride.
