The book was good, but i couldn't get through this video,  this girl is a little too extra, and her laughing througb the beginnjng i had to stop

If my friend was dating a doctor and then turned up dead, I would never date a random doctor until her killer was found. Alarm bells would be ringing in my head the second he mentioned his profession

LIFE PRO-TIP: If your friend is so male-centered that she dates abusers and then lies for them to the police, she’s not your friend and you should never be alone with her, nor ingest anything she gives you. 1:12:59

Yes, definitely, after a guy saves me from being assaulted my biggest concern is why he didn't hit on me DIRECTLY AFTER SAVING ME FROM SA

why in the world was tom still dating around if he knew it was immediately putting targets on their backs 😭dude was going around marking them for slaughter with a bright red pen

This is the strangest Great Gatsby fanfic.

A couple named Tom and Daisy fleeing New York after both of them had  dalliances and the bodies started  piling up?

F. Scott Fitzgerald is doing the 45° lean in his grave because ain’t no way.

imagine breaking up with your boyfriend and very dramatically bc you think he’s a murder and then your two best friends invite you to dinner to chill out and calm down and then one of them proposes to the other at that dinner. wtf??? who would do that to their friend

time to listen to this on company time 🥰🥰🥰

im only ten minutes in and the prologue is ALMOST EXACTLY VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN NARRATING LIKE THE FIRST CHAPTER OF FRANKENSTEIN IM IN HYSTERICS. THIS MF FRANKENSTEIN FROM WISH

This book is an abysmal thriller novel, there is no tension at all. The whole book is basically, and then this happened and then that happened, for 60+ chapters. This was only bearable because we were all in it together 😭

I am SO glad you put up a character list, I lose track of who's who when listening to these book recaps, thank you! A+! drops a like

In regards to blood stains: it's your spit. Your own saliva breaks down blood really well. Use whatever stain remover after, but in a pinch, spit.

Your dedication to dissecting her thrillers is admirable and funny as hell. Couldn't be me, but I love your reactions

........

Wow, Tom is really an idiot, isn't he? Women he dates go missing and are killed and he....continues to date? He doesn't question when the girl he dates in college drowns and his murderous ex girlfriend shows up at her funeral?  Also, lmfao. Not Tom basically agreeing that he and Daisy/Gretchen can pull a freakin' Dexter.

Of all the terrible things in this book the worst part was somehow Bonnie was the only human in all of New York to wear a scrunchie

On the flower scene, aside from the cohoesqueness of the actual writing, it's so weird too bc they are talking like they are 8 not SIXTEEN. "It was growing happily and you killed it!" "Is there a way to fix it?" That would be normal kid dialogue. I'm sure a real 16 year old boy would have forgotten or never realized to begin with that flowers are alive and it would be a funny scene but the way daisy talks too is so unbelieveably childish too, I can't help but feel there was no authoral intention there freida just has no idea how teens talk.

Gretchen = Daisy is technically a plot twist in that you're not expecting it but McFadden did not set it up AT ALL. Daisy/Gretchen is revealed to be the killer at basically the end of the book without any clues leading you there—in an absurd, expository Dairy Queen meetup, no less. The crazy ex-girlfriend angle is so much less compelling than where I actually thought the story was going and it's PISSING ME OFF.

1:11:11 A few plot holes in this story:
    1. If Tim was so in love with Daisy, why was he kissing another girl? And why didn’t reveal that in his POV (wouldn’t it have made him seem more suspicious, helping the plot twist?)
2. I get why she killed Slug (isolates Tom and gives her a scapegoat) but I feel like Allison would’ve just sided with her. She likes her best friend more than she hates Tom. If she’s so popular and the chief’s daughter, killing her was ott (she clearly just likes killing, but crazy is a poor motive for murderers imo)
3. So Tom is willing to cover for Daisy,  still LOVES Daisy, even after 8 years of no contact, but continues to date? Knowing that Daisy is targeting his girlfriends, who he clearly doesn’t care about?  What an absolute loser.

i literally DNF'd this book after 10 pages, you're braver than i am 😭
