Old song but still as powerful today as it was then. The voice and those guitars 👍🤘

This is the studio version over that live video. The actual live audio of that performance is wild, the fans front row going insane is so crazy to see in 75😂

They didn’t lull us into darkness. 1st song 1st album Black Sabbath Black Sabbath was maybe one of the darkest songs ever done.

The craziness of the rockstar lifestyle these guys lived, and the record company that rung them through the wringer is what Geezer Butler wrote about in not just this song, but a familiar theme for some of the album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Their record company really did them dirty, but an incredible song still. 🤘

The band was unbelievable for sure . Ozzy was always everyone's favorite and then they fell in love with the whole band.
Atleast that's what happened with me.
Sabbath bloody Sabbath is still my all time favorite album.
Well they all are.

In 1974 I was 13 and saw Black Sabbath at the Philadelphia Spectrum. There were almost equal amounts of young males and females.

That video was from Don Kershner's Rock Concert. It was on every Saturday night with different bands. The audiences were carefully selected for good wholesome looking teens.

I just finished reading I Am Ozzy, his autobiography. I have never laughed and been so saddened by a personal story at the same time, through book or movie. Some crazy ass stuff he got up to. Despite the fact he did some terrible things to his two wives, kids and others, especially during bouts of severe drinking and drugs, he was genuinely remorseful and a really decent, caring man.

Black Sabbath 1968-eternity🤘

That’s what the crowd looked like in mid seventies, think about it guys.

They were great and all young people loved them because they created a new style of music. I went to one of their earliest concerts when I was so young and the audience went out of their mind. I was amazed how cool was Toni Iomi as he was standing there and playing his guitar cold-blooded. Keep up the good work, guys.

Black Sabbath really brought the dark sounds and dark lyrical imagery, but the dark visuals of the leather and denim didn't really take hold until later. A lot of that was driven by Judas Priest.
Music in the late 60's and early 70's was very experimental, and a lot of fans had musical tastes all over the place. Just think of Jimi Hendrix shredding and burning his guitar at Woodstock alongside groups that were playing straight up acoustical folk music - and nobody questioned the extreme range of styles.
