Man what a good show this was.

I've always considered this episode the series' finale, it just feels right. We meet the actual author of Tarzan and get a recap of previous episodes, the ''theme'' is right there.

Didn’t the Little Mermaid also have an episode where Ariel rescues Hans Christian Anderson and inadvertently inspires him to write the original Little Mermaid book? Kenneth Mars also tells the viewers to check out his other fairytales at the end of the episode. It’s not every day that an adaptation promotes the source material and its creator.

I like to think of this episode as the actual canon ending to the series. In this view of the episode, I imagine Tarzan's enemies are all defeated, reformed, or gone, and offscreen, Tarzan and Jane give Ed the accounts of their adventures in the jungle in private visits and letters, with Burroughs using some creative licensing to protect Tarzan and his family from the public eye as they engage in new adventures.

Not gonna lie. Professor Samuel developing the photos and, immediately, putting them into a slideshow without so much as glancing at them before showed an audience? That shows guts. Not wisdom... but guts.

Crazy how this episode was about Tarzan meeting the man who created him in the show and also an episode in the Disney Little mermaid cartoon where she actually meet her creator as well

If I had a nickel for every time Disney put Edgar Rice Burroughs in one of their adaptations of his work, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

So an episode of Tarzan with an author named Ed; well obviously it’s the historical novelist Edward Rutherford 😂

A Princess From Mars animated Disney movie would have been epic too. Apearently it was a cancelled idea for a Disney animated movie according to Wikipedia.

Black Butler anime did similar thing when after murder mystery arc we learn that one of the side characters was writer of Sherlock Holmes.

Surprisingly a lot of Disney spinoffs have aged well in terms of writing. I view them like Hanna Barbara. The animation might be poor at times but I can overlook that when the writing and acting are good.

Tarzan did a great job adapting parts of Mr. Edgar's work while keeping its own continuity.

Lastly this was a great way for the animators to reuse clips effectively.  Not often a clip show has a narrative reason for being that way.

This is like how Edmond Dantes aka the Count of Monte Cristo was a real person in the Fate series and Alexandre Dumas was writing a novel based on his life.

Andersens episode definitely deserves to be talked about, these kinds of episodes with the characters meeting a version of their creator is always fascinating in my opinion.

Tbh, I
Always wanted an episode where Tarzan found out about his mother and father through like a forgotten uncle or aunt, kind of like a prequel to the flim. It woild have been so good.

It gets even more Meta when you remember the John Carter movie also featured Edgar Rice Burroughs who was John Carter's nephew.

“The only panda who witnessed Clayton’s passing.” 😂😂😂 Bro!

The Hans Christian Andersen Little Mermaid episode was so cute...but I'm like "How did he make that submarine in the mid 1800's? And I want an old school back pack like Ed was wearing.

I like how Ed looks more similar to Sam Neill than Edgar Rice Burroughs lol

John Carter's failure is probably the REAL reason why we might never get a live-action Tarzan remake.

I would definitely rewatch this show if it was on Disney plus
