Hes the master of passive voice. "There was a gun in the car" not "I took a gun with me." Or "I'd been through a horrifying experience" not ""I did horrifying things".

"They" better bring back MINDHUNTER, Ed's appearance was so thrilling and the show was canceled after we see the last shot of season 2...Dennis Rader ... Oh my god that was such a good show!!!

The dude is so scary not because of his size but because of his intelligence and ability to just be a dude that fits in and could be your really good buddy.

The guy just loves the audience. He loves being, in his mind, the star.

Kemper knows what to say. All the therapy in the world would never help Ed.

As horrific as Ed Kemper's crimes were, I could listen to him talk for hours. When he speaks it's as if someone's reading a book to you. A troubled yet highly intelligent individual.

Kemper was my neighbor in 1972 and 1973. My parents were the people who were going on the date that evening. We were the other 609. My mother had an altercation with Edmund 2 weeks before he killed his mom. It was about his speeding down Harriet. We moved to mattison lane in Santa Cruz in 1973. My parents purchased a house from George Fitz. In 2001 George's son Michael murdered his entire family because his wife wanted a divorce. His wife Vicki was from Modesto and just happened to have grown up with Lacey Pederson.

He turned himself in. His IQ is off the scale. He killed his grandparents when he was 15 and convinced the doctor's he was no longer mentally ill. He also fooled the judge he was not to blame due to mental issues so he was at a hospital instead of a prison for killing both his grandparents. He could have killed so many more. But he realized the . He has no feelings for anyone and all do it again if he gets out. Parole? How can that even be possible after what he did?

@Givemelibertynow24u2 2 years ago

He couldn’t understand she couldn’t love him! It made him feel like she hated him. ! Lots of people have been threw this.. strong morals but absolutely no emotion. No love, hugs, saying I love you was only a dream! Older generations never showed emotion like he is describing

@nyteshayde1197 3 years ago

He's incredibly smart and articulate. If I didn't know his crimes, I would think there's no way he'd do what he did.

@anniehills3580 2 years ago

Children of abusive parents can choose not to relate to them once they are grown. You dont need to kill people. He felt bad bcuz of his mother, while an adult, he WOULD NOT LET IT GO.

There are a lot of people that are scared or don't know how to start a relationship with the opposite sex and for the most part they don't start murdering people.

@juliemccannon2908 3 years ago

It's weird... it's scary AF to know that such a hateful person could sound so calm, intelligent, articulate.

Part of Ed's sick genius is that he understood that video recordings would be forever. And that by being so open about his inner process when he did what he did, he would hit a spot that people want to hear about and he would be legendary, or at least well known, forever.

Excellent analysis. I’ve heard this interview a few times before and was surprised by how easily I was becoming manipulated by Ed. What a terrifying individual.

A very interesting video. I've seen that Kemper interview before many times but your comments throughout made me look at it quite differently. He comes across as very personable, reasonably honest and quite matter of fact. I can understand how so many people who interviewed him found him quite likeable. It's all too easy to forget just how manipulative he is and it almost seems impossible to think he was capable of what he did to all those people, which is ultimately the most terrifying thing about him.

@awaretenacious 3 years ago

When Kemper was a small child, somebody may have been able to help him. Kemper's story is a stark and somber reminder about how important mental health treatment and astute mental health evaluations are regarding mentally ill individuals.

He’s very interesting yet scary as hell. I can’t even imagine the rage that he took out on these women. Very in control, intelligent, explosive and enormous. Absolutely horrifying!

I've watched a lot of interviews with killers, criminals, etc. The common denominator is bad childhood. Not everyone who has had a bad childhood becomes a criminal or sociopathic killer. But most, if not all, psycho killers had traumatic childhoods.
