One word. Corruption.

You are very right. It’s not the government that makes the Philippines still poor. No matter how many times we replace a president in our country if the same kind of culture will not change. Basic course of corruption is too much of taking advantage by the people who rely their life in getting help from you. Teach them how to fish and not give them the fish….Its in the bible

If the government weren’t corrupt, the Philippines would be a lot better. Corruption starts at the palace and goes down to lower-level officials. That's why the Philippines is still poor to this day!

The Philippines was designed that way for Go's remnants, and so the humility and humanity will be intact at all times. Noticed that wealthy nations people become so prideful, arrogant, selfish and all wickedness. Tyes, the corruptions are rampant in that country but is a part of the designed but corrupt people still have to pay the consequences of their actions. Also, in every country, there are poor people and poor people in the Philippines are out in the open, and poor people in wealthy nations are well hidden. Poor people existed since time immemorial to teach people some compassion and empathy. Wealth is nothing to God if a person does not value humanity, because everything we owned is just borrowed.

Corruption is not only the politician but it seems  majority of the people are also corrupt.  A group of armies, teachers, police department and etcetera are into corruption. I think it's in their genes.  I don't think it will be changed..

The Philippines is still Poor because the politicians are ultra, extremely Rich. The Filipinos are poor because laws are not laws, they are just suggestions. The Filipinos are poor because criminals can still run for office, upon release. The Filipinos are poor because there is no enforcement of laws. The Filipinos are still poor because we're stupid, and still elect the same old politicians every damn time. The Filipinos are poor because all they care about is showbiz and basketball.

You said many things, some right, some in my opinion wrong. I am writing this to you as an Italian, hence from a nation that used to be among the richest but is now, in a way similar to Japan, falling behind, not so much in terms of quality of life but in terms of real wages.
In my country, and to a greater extent in the Philippines, the only reason a people falls behind is the combination of stupidity among ordinary people and the greed of the people who control the country.
Of course nations compete with each other, so for instance the US is making a big mess right now and in fact creating a global energy crisis where nations that import hydrocarbons, like all of Europe and China, will find themselves in greater difficulty. But I don't see all this repression toward the Philippines. They are in a strategic position for the Western axis, forming a belt around Chinese maritime trade consisting of Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia.
So surely anyone looks with interest at the development of a democratic and stable society in the Philippines, and I think the Western goal would be to have an organic evolution just like what happened in South Korea or Poland.
The Philippines, on the other hand, maintains an extremely high level of corruption at every level, from the barangay to the mayor to high-level politicians. People have a mindset capable of looking only at today, they lack any capacity for planning, and the best ones, the most enterprising with the strongest sense of duty, go to work abroad, but they fail to break free from their chains and end up working as slaves for their relatives who, in the meantime, live day to day.
I'll give a random example: before elections in a municipality, candidates distribute food and money, making a real investment to "buy" votes; every family receives 1-5k pesos and in some situations that turns your week around at least. Clearly they vote for whoever gave them the money, but that money is the money the mayor will receive later in kickbacks to award contracts to whomever he wants. No one looks at efficiency or who will do the best job.
Multiply this across every working field and you have the answers you are looking for.
All this is clearly a shame because both the place and the people in the Philippines are fantastic.

philippines  is not .poor .w e have    what  you  dont  have  we  have  many  resources  such  as  nickel  lush     garden  we  have  mountains  gold    and  many      rare  things

Political leaders are corrupt. If you want to get rich some say ,go to politics.Even people who are not qualified go to politics.

God bless Filipinos.  😇  But don't blame government corruption.  They are all too committed to their own toxic money-culture and THAT is what keeps them poor.  As soon as they say, "I help my family," .... then you know both them and their family will always be poor.  They are not 'helping' anybody.  Just throwing money at people does not 'help' anyone.
