I'm serious when I say that I love how that opening montage video made this sound like the most important thing to ever happen in the history of time.

I had just turned 8 yrs old a week prior. June of 97 was the greatest time of my life. NBA was on fire the music was top notch, boxing was on fire with Tyson and Holyfield , just got my first pair of Jordan 12s, wcw and wwf was lightening hot. I think I tuned in to free for all right before this ppv started 😂. God I would do anything to go back.

Pre neck injury Austin was simply one of the best all-round wrestler of the period. Wished he didn't get hurt and continued on wrestling that style throughout the rest of his career.

Vince was underrated as an announcer.

1997 was one of my favourite years for Wrestling. WWF, WCW and ECW were on fire. Was 14 years old at the time and it was fantastic.

I loved Faarrooq, and his WCW title win in 1992 was a GREAT moment. BUT HERE, I just felt he wasn't properly pushed enough to be a legit #1 contender. His title shot just came out of nowhere.

KOTR 97 so here’s a thumbnail of Steve Austin from 2001 when he was in the Alliance.

1997 is the best year in wrestling history in my opinion. It's staggering to watch a show like this or even one from the opposition, with both companies firing on all cylinders by 97 and it really shows.

Also, Pillman with the spotlight thing screwing with Vince and JR there was absolutely gold lol. Hart Foundation one of the most underrated factions in history even though it didn't last long tragically.

Loose Cannon Pillman added such an awesome dynamic to that group and it fit perfectly due to his history with the family.
