"What's the plural of Smurf? Is it Smurves?" is a very funny question to ask when every piece of Smurf media I can think of is called "The Smurfs"

One of my favorite bootleg costumes was this one of Disney's Aladdin, but in order to avoid copyright, it was called "A-lad-in a costume"

Costumes being flame retardant was indeed an important thing. They used to spray these things previously with something that would make them EXTREMELY flammable so this was to assure people that "Hey, your children will be less likely to be caught on fire in this costume now."

29:04 That's actually JohnnyUtah as a kid. The whole story is that he wore "Smurf face" and the original photo came out in black and white, giving him blackface.

Vinny goes through Mike's wardrobe and publicly shows it to everyone while he's banned and can't do anything about it!

0:51 There's a joke here somewhere about a dad going to pick up cigarettes and never returning and the baby dressing up as the cigarettes.

13:05 back in like 2008 a friend of mine went to a party as a maggot and just laid on the floor the whole party. He was very committed

27:44 Let us mourn the fact that this is the first official Half-Life 2 costume.

that beavis & butt-head snl skit is so fucking funny to look at. One guy is entirely on point visually, and the other one is ryan gosling

I'm probably one of very few people here who can offer the context behind Seven Deadly Simpsons. It was a performance from a Rock Eisteddfod, which was a high school dance competition in Australia that existed between the 80s and the early 2010s, my sisters were part of a few of the later ones.

@37:32 if this is a real photo, that is one of the sickest costumes I've ever seen. Even just from a design point like idk what the costume is supposed to be, but the execution is inanely sick
