WHO WERE THE CLEANERS?
Blanca Turrubiate-Simpson — the Murdaugh family helper and Maggie's confidante — believes that on the night of June 7, 2021, Alex Murdaugh did not act alone in the South Carolina murders. She believes someone helped cover it up. She calls them "the cleaners." And she says she knows who they are — but naming them would put her life in danger. In the two and a half years following the Murdaugh murders, law enforcement never once questioned her.
Now, in this exclusive interview, Blanca walks us through more than 10 clues she discovered after the murders of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh that investigators never asked her about. From the orange tractor to Alex's white t-shirt to the beach towel in the Suburban, Blanca builds a compelling case that a murdaugh accomplice helped cover it all up.
She even breaks down the Murdaugh 911 call — asking: who was Alex talking to when he said "here"? And she gives her theories on who she believes Alex Murdaugh planned to frame.
But will she reveal who the cleaners are?
Criminally Obsessed reached out to the South Carolina Attorney General's office several days in advance of posting this interview to ask about Blanca's clues and is waiting an official response.
