In this video, I complete the final stage of my Waltham Riverside Colonial project by installing this beautiful size 12 pocket watch movement into a new wristwatch case.
The movement is a Waltham Riverside Colonial, size 12, movement number 29294591.
The new case arrived from a supplier in Ukraine and came with hinged lugs, case backs, crown, mounting screws, and a pre-fitted winding stem.
I show the complete casing process, check the winding and hand-setting operation, secure the movement inside the case, and press the case backs into place.
Of course, as often happens in watchmaking, everything did not go exactly according to plan.
During the final assembly, part of the dial numeral came loose, which meant I had to open the case again, clean the area, repair the numeral, and carefully reinstall it.
Once everything was back together, I wound the movement and checked its performance on the timegrapher in several positions.
For a movement from the 1930s, the results were very encouraging, with strong amplitude in most positions.
And if you stayed until the very end, you will also discover the source of the mysterious background noises that kept appearing throughout the video.
If you are interested in the wristwatch cases shown in this video, leave a comment and I will share the eBay link where I purchased them.
Thank you for watching.
