My ex fell while solo cruising in the San Juans. Broke six ribs and it took him three days to make it back to the harbor and dock. He could have radioed for a rescue tow and I thought it was weird that he didn't. Because he was unable to even complete the two hour drive back home. The kids and I and a friend had to go rescue him on the freeway over 90 minutes away.
Took me a  couple more years to figure out he'd not been alone. But the girlfriend couldn't operate the boat.

The boat one can me muscular/ disc related. Doing sheets is very hard on the body. I’ve thrown a disc before and was essentially paralysed. If I was on a boat that constantly moved my body wouldn’t be able to repair its self. So, as a solo, you could understandably starve to death with a full galley
