Botanist here: never EVER trust any of those apps to identify an edible mushroom

I feel like you could make a hat stand for this that looks like the base of a mushroom so that when you're not wearing it, it would just look like a giant mushroom in your house 🍄 ~*whimsy*~

OK, but this really needs to be a whole outfit! Like a frilly dress, or puffy pants and puffy-sleeved top with a vest or something, with cute fairy shoes and a satchel of spores🥺

I really love that you painted the mushroom hat brown. It's the first I've seen so far that doesn't look like a toadstool and you put so much effort into the details. It looks like a real mushroom plus you could wear it everyday with any outfit without having to worry about matching colours.

“I hate the fact that being a tornado has its consequences” is one of the most relatable things I’ve ever heard 😭😂

My first thought: “Yep, that checks out.”

My second thought: “How has Rachel not already made a mushroom hat?”

“It’s a foggy, dark, Victorian morning in here.” I’m DEFINITELY going to use that to describe my monthly brain fog!!! Thank you for all you do for your audience/fans. We can all do with more whimsy!!

When Rachel panics, she turns into Jennifer Coolidge, and I'm here for it

Rachel, spraying highly toxic adhesive indoors: "Should I be doing this outside?"  Me, screaming at my computer: "YESSSSS!!!"  But, the mushroom cap: Adorable!

The book Mushrooms Demystified is the go to book that a lot of biologists use for mushroom ID! It's definitely the best one I've used!

please never ever stop including these cosy little rain/nature moments, they're so soothing i love em

I adore the geographically accurate mushroom choice.

I have never heard a sentence that spoke more to me than " Or much like Bilbo, spreading myself over too much...toast."
This is exactly what I needed today before I passed in my final sketches for my design class. Thank you!

“I don’t need the gym: I craft” would make the perfect shirt saying 👚 👕

That laugh when you first put the foam on your head and saw how cute it was going to be is my FAVOURITE part of a project 😂 It's when you realize it's all coming together!

"I've done [paper mache] a whopping total of once."  Didn't realize the pumpkin lady was so bad that the memory of making it had 100% yeeted itself out of Rachel's head.

Mascot/furry costume creator here! I recommend finding a way to seal the raw foam and lining the head hole. Raw upholstery foam yellows and deteriorates over time when in contact with moisture (it also molds very easily, and I don't think we want any real spores on your head lol). I recommend using neoprene or lycra for the head hole, and for sealing the foam itself you can actually use plastidip as you would for EVA foam. Then it would keep those accidentally mushroom ridges you got during the carving progress. It looks incredible I have never thought of using upholstery foam like this!

you have to look at the gills of the mushroom when identifying and the stalk. The white one on 17:56 looks to be a death cap, from what I can tell, very poisonous.

I did a project on bleeding fairy helmets once! They’re really cool. When the fruiting bodies are damaged, they leak a red latex that looks just like blood! They’re purple-pink in color, and are bioluminescent, but not an amount detectable to human eyes. Very nice.

This is very late, but I sincerely hope you also made a wall-mounted hat hook so that you can put it on its stand and it looks like a mushroom is growing out of your wall :D Because that's the only thing that is needed now.
