Freddie was so ill at this time I can never get over how he did this video with so much energy. There are some funny outtakes with the penguins on the Making of I'm Going Slightly Mad. Brian wore this same penguin costume in the pictures that appeared on the back of the first Queen album back in 1973. Brian has an animal rescue called Save Me and is actively fighting against the badger cull in Britain. Freddie loved animals as well, especially his cats!

I joined the Fan club in November 1991, I received my fan club magazine through the post on 25th November 1991 literally 5 minutes after I heard Freddie had died, very painful to say the least. I am still a solid member of the club and will continue to be a member all the whilst it runs and I am still alive. Freddie was disappointed that this song was not a bigger hit as he spent a lot of time on it. I think its magnificent darling. The fan club is the longest running fan club in the world, bit of trivia. Some of the images in this video you will find on the back of Queen , their very first album.

The Bass Player - As a nurse I worked with AIDS patients and some did develop dementia. It was a horrible disease. That was what I got from the song as well.

I heard the same story too and Peter Freestone ,Freddie's personal assistant , said that he misses Freddie's laughter. This video is funny but heartbreaking at the same time. Thanks for doing it.

So sad... the story made me cry...

Thanks for reacting to this video ... amazing that Freddie was able to sing and act for this production considering how ill he was at this point. But he was an amazing, talented individual who loved music. And he shared his gift with the world ... generously to the end. Just like Brian had inscribed on Freddie's statue in Montreux: "Lover of life, singer of songs." ♥️

You should review The Making of I'm going Slightly Mad.

Brian said Freddie got to the studio early. Had been sitting doing nothing for hours. First thing he said when Bri got there, I’m going slightly Mad. So there you have it. 🥴

I also heard that everybody was sweating for the lights in the studio, while he wore different layers of clothes to keep himself warm! He was in a very bad stage of his illness...

A performer until the end. This is one of my favourite videos. Sad and chilling in a way as he was so ill but basically saying stuff it ! These are my fears and thoughts but they are not grinding me down. Lets have some fun with it. And the song itself so well crafted by his band mates supportive to the end

The Gorilla is John, there have been so many outtakes of John patting his legs saying “get over here”Freddie running with arms open camera stops just before jumping in John’s lap. This is Freddie finally getting to sit in his lap on camera. Plus Rudy kept saying John, I mean gorilla.

You guys - love that you’re researching all the facts. I know from your very first Queen reaction, you didn’t know much about them. But it is great watching you tell your viewers things you’re finding out and reading about the history of the songs and Freddie, etc. I think I’ve read everything there is out there since the 70s (Ha) but I will always watch and be reminded. It is also interesting to watch the making of this video sometime if that interests you, showing Freddie fussing over his makeup, worrying if it was covering everything, so sad but he was unreal! I can tell you’re getting more and more and more intrigued by this group! Yay! Thanks!

Fantastically written song. Amazing video

That game reminds me of the Surrealist game of Questions and Answers. There's a very Surrealist quality to the music video. As an art student, Freddie would have been very aware of Andre Breton et al.

I love the humor. Freddie co-produced this video and there is another video of the making of the video. Freddie is definitely in charge.

Freddie loved bananas, and that is where the banana tree came from. Such a great video from a man that was dying and dealing with so much. Thanks for reacting to this video!

Pay attention to the scene with the penquins on the couch.

and here I thought there would be some discussion on John Deacon's lovely bass lines for this song

Very awesome! Fyi, Brian is a passionate animal rights/protection activist and penguins are among his favorite animals. There are a lot of pictures of him wearing a penguin pin on his lapel.
