My old boss went to Rice. He said the main problem is the current student body isn’t interested in football. The majority of the crowd at a home game is alumni and the parents of the children performing at halftime (my boss claimed Rice purposely gets local high schools to perform so they can pad their attendance numbers).

You missed out on a ECU tailgate, and they cook pulled pork inside the stadium. Hit me up and I'll get you that Pirate shirt.

WE ARE SO BACK

Aw, Tulane's stadium looks so unique crammed inside of its neighborhood, and I personally love the look. I'd put it way higher, just above the dilapidated liberty bowl.

Yulman being that close to houses and shit seems super peak to me. A lot like watching soccer in England where the stadium is literally a part of the city.

I played against army and navy in college so played at both those stadiums. For what it’s worth I liked playing at army a lot more than playing at navy. I know atmosphere isn’t counted but army’s stadium was rocking both times we played there and the cadets were right on top of the visiting sideline with the way the old stands were constructed. Definitely the most interesting trash talk I heard as a player. They also have an artillery gun that’s across the lake/ river that they shoot when they score and you can feel the vibrations through the turf. Really awesome atmosphere for a game.

Pretty fair rankings outside of Tulane. I think that is the sharpest stadium in the conference, and I am a Memphis fan. Thanks for shouting out our in-progress renovations! It will be hard to recognize the place when they're complete.

Great write up about ECU, wish you had a chance to visit the press box and luxury areas. They do an excellent job of filling the area with things to see and do on gameday, it doesnt feel bland or empty. The tailgate scene is 10/10. Come back for a game!

Gonna have to agree to disagree on the Tulane ranking.

I won’t disagree with your observations.  It is a tightly packed stadium that is bigger than it looks, and it is hard to park there.  But, it really does make for a special, more urban, experience.

Totally fitting the New Orleans vibe.   But still, keep up the good work!

Can confirm that the Donaldson Deck is the place to be when USF baseball and softball are playing at the same time

Everyone’s already said what they said about Tulane, but there is some context to it: the fight to move away from the cavernous Superdome was extremely tough for the school. Those houses next to Yulman house some of the richest people in the city and, naturally, were NIMBYs to the extreme. They fussed up an absolute storm to not have the stadium built, but after a ridiculous amount of battling between those residents and the school, Yulman finally got approved. It does look packed, but I promise you the on campus stadium was so desperately needed. It can be expanded up to 10,000 more seats, although what that’d look like I’m not sure.

Other cool thing: while it doesn’t take up the entirety of the old Tulane Stadium, it does take part of it and the original medallion of the old stadium is located right at the entrance of Yulman. Also, the food is really good and you can buy daiquiris in the stadium. Makes for a veeeery fun game day lol

ECU pirate alum. Thank you for doing this I love your videos bro

I enjoyed the podcast!

I think extra points should be awarded for stadiums that are on campus!

When USF opened, there was no UCF. They were named University of South Florida because, at the time, they were the southern-most state university AT THE TIME the school opened.

3:39 The is a old render of the USF on campus stadium, there are new renders of it

As a Tulane fan and football season ticket holder, your ranking is what it is but I think your a little low, it captures what the old stadium was with a modern flair. Tulane stadium or Yulman now always felt like a neighborhood congregation spot, neighborhood bars and restaurants, cookouts, next to frat parties on Broadway then walk to the game then go home when it's all said and done. Or catch the street car on st Charles and downtown. Like the superdome is to the NFL, everything seems in walking distance. I travel 60 miles to catch a game now and it's still better than the dome.

You said to imagine Tulsa's stadium in your head and made me homesick bro

Awesome to see my hometown stadium  ranked #1. The Navy tailgating experience is also highly underrated

At one point, 10% of American bricks were made in North Carolina so North Carolinians really like seeing bricks!

When I was stationed at West Point it was pretty easy to get onto the field at night and so I did because I was enlisted and didn’t have all the cadet restrictions. The baseball facility is really nice too
