who are you?

W H A T S  I T  L I K E  T O  B E  B A L D

your house is the ultimate liminal space. every shot has me feeling like i’m wandering through a hedge maze

that interview was so awkward bro shit was hilarious

we love you david

2:43 why are you bullying this kind man😭😭😭

If you have to guilt trip/neg someone into supporting whatever you’re doing, then it will immediately turn your customer base off, regardless if what you’re providing is actually good or not.

"paying a fool to yell about it in the town square" sounds a lot like Instagram influencers

I'm so sorry for Lorenzo 😭

Honestly tho, everything is so expensive nowadays, that the price difference between big corporations and small businesses is smaller than it used to be.

How did you not die from social anxiety from that interview

As someone who's been screwed over by small businesses, we need to stop giving these people special privileges due to the fact they own a business. If your ma and pa shop blows, they don't magically deserve patrons.

What the heck... you're 20?? I've gotten to the point where my favorite content creators are all my age 😂

3:25   Fun fact! Colouring can actually be a real job! From what I understand, colourists think about lighting and how that effects the charecters, drawing out how they look in different lighting conditions for the rest of the artist team!
✨🌠The more you know 🌠✨

As someone who tried to start an actual small business (crochet dolls), I crumpled under the pressure of the economy and spending every waking hour trying to keep something that wasn't financially stable afloat. Working a job in this economy isn't enough if it isn't 2-3 people living together either. Love the videos David!

Etsy. McDonald's. Dropshipping "entrepreneurs".  The ethical dilemma. This is exactly what I want to listen to someone talk about.

"I just want a sandwich". Yep.

21:56 In India, an online "thrift" culture has emerged where "small businesses" aka rich girls from South Delhi, sell clothing at markups that will make your brain explode. They charge separately for shipping too. But they include handwritten notes so apparently its okay.

Why would anyone want to buy a second-hand garment for 10 times its original price? It's absurd. Plus you can't call them out on it or they will play the victim card. One of them actually threatened to leak my personal information :)

"I don't wanna have a discussion on long term economics and morality, I just want a sandwich"
Me too, brother

Oh man we had a situation where a huge celebrity, Jennie from Black Pink, took photos at a local spot and put them on instagram - and it caused and has continued to cause so much chaos, our local govt had to put in all this extra infrastructure, parking spots and time limits on the location. It would be super weird to be a small business and blow up so much like that. We are a big tourism town so it was good for local businesses but people have seen it as a blessing and a curse because everything also got WAY too busy and overwhelmed all the locals. Thanks to social media, celebrities and big influencers can kinda cause a path of chaos wherever they go

26:55 I've found that the simplest way to handle this dilemma is to remember that I'm not pro big business, and I'm not pro small business. I'm pro good business. If the "small business" in my area isn't actually offering valuable, I don't need to feel guilty not supporting them.
