the stark contrast between self-improvement for women versus self-improvement for men has always been so funny to me. drink some matcha and use korean glass skin products versus drowning in ice water and sleeping in a rusty tire

You don’t need to “lock in” and deprive yourself of every single pleasure in life, you just need SOME confidence and will to say “I’ll do something good today.” AND DO IT

In my opinion, they are not selling hope. What they are selling is anxiety.

They make you anxious about your life and what it “will become” if you don’t buy into their schemes.

the algorithm dragged my ahh back here lmao

what if you just delete instagram

This channel’s ability to seem professional but also Amateurish really gives it a unique charm I like, as well as being funny. Especially compared to the channels where everything is perfected and maximum quality. Which isn’t bad I just think this style is more interesting.

You know when a YouTuber is good when they acknowledge that they are shilling you something and the only thing you can think is "get that bag"

Dude you gotta continue making this content. even if u dont get large numbers. I pretty much only watch ur videos these days especially when I'm cooking or just doing some work, ur videos are really fun because of ur personality and tiny little jokes sprinkled around in there. Ur style is very unique so I really appreciate someone making genuine good and not extremely high edited content. It's simple enjoyable and effective. I love your content man. Keep it up brodie❤️🫂🫂

I love how I get this recommended while in 3 days the year is going to be over lmao

ok THIS time imma lock in. FOR REAL this time.

"brother, you live in a home with steady wifi and air conditioning" 😭 bro

Apparently I'm seen as a successful person who gets a lot done. My tip is notice things in your life. And that will have great success. Notice what makes you feel good, and notice what makes you feel bad.  This will build intrinsic motivation to do things that make you feel good. Scrolling makes me feel bad, working on my stop motion animation makes me feel good. If I actively notice and sometimes even say Out Loud "doing this makes me feel bad", "doing this makes me feel good" my brain learns, and after a few months my brain goes from wanting to scroll to wanting to animate. It takes TIME. There is no way you are going to just turn things around right now. You will turn things around over the course of weeks, months, years.

I also have a rule that I always say "yes" to every opportunity unless I have a REALLY good reason not to.  It gets you going places. Too much of life is spent saying "no" because you can't be bothered, but if you learn to be bothered the world opens up. Learning that the effort is worth it in a world where we have the worlds most effortless entertainment everywhere all the time giving us dopamine, is a great skill.

14:45 don’t give Wall-e that type of disrespect ever again my guy

13:37 there was a study done on addiction with rats one rat was given a drug and isolated and it ended up fuelling the rats addiction but then the rat was placed in a place surrounded with other rats and the rat eventually fully recovered the scientists concluded that isolation does not cure addiction having a support group does

tbh i consider this channel as a self-improvement channel, it really realistic and point out thing people don't relly notice and really make you think that you don't have to be perfect, just better.

idk this is my opinion, maybe the creator dosen't even intend for it to be this way but he became my favorite due to him being very relatable and very realistic on how things are.

out of ALL the self help content that i doom scrolled for like two years, there is literally 3 very much common sense thing that that actually worked:

- a to do list or a VERY bare bone planner. (anything more will just distract with too much planning and no dong what was planned.)

- a way to get the ball rolling when you don’t feel like it.  i.e two minute rule where you do the thing for two mins and stop of you still don’t feel like it any more, or essentially reverse procrastination and gaslighting yourself into thinking you’re only doing a little bit. e.g: cleaning your room and going “i’m just moving this shirt. oh well this pants is right next to it let me hang it up.” yada yada you get the picture)

- a way to reflect on the day or the week. short journey entry, video, whatever it is just something to track your progress.

literally that’s it. nothing special but it’s effective. the best solution often aren’t the glamorous revolutionary ones

NOOOO HE PSY-OPTED A SELF IMPROVEMENT VIDEO INTO MY BRAINN

"I have to accept that this is going to be an imperfect process"

Accepting imperfection has allowed me to accomplish so much more than when I used to strive for perfect.

I'm an introvert. But your delivery is like my inner talk and I appreciate watching it outside my head.
Thank you for calling out productivity gurus and the fact 80% of the videos are made to sell or promote something.
