Rare Move to Stiles & Abrams, Vintage Friction Bearing Ore Cars Shoved to Reopen the Southern Line!

Watch these Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad vintage EMD SD9s ELS 1224 and ELS 1221 working their way south on some incredibly rare movements to reopen the line down to Green Bay!
We start the action in Wausaukee, WI as ELS 1224 & 1221 head south toward Crivitz hauling an empty mega log hauler cars and loads of propane for Lakes Gas. After making their drop, the crew runs light power further south to Stiles, WI—marking the first time an ELS train has been down to Stiles since July.
Back in March, severe washouts completely took out the rail line leading to the Green Bay CN yard connection. To help fix this, the ELS crew travels to Stiles to pull out 3 vintage ballast ore cars equipped with old-school friction bearings. Watch as they perform a rare shove move south with a conductor riding the point, getting ready to dump ballast and finally open this line back up to Green Bay. I gave chase to the action from Stiles all the way down to Abrams, WI until the sun started to dip towards the horizon.
