The ELS' vintage motive power runs seem to have brought this railroad to the attention of a wider global audience (I'm sitting in central Kentucky with the Norfolk Southern's CNO&TP mainlilne in my front yard). Thanks KB for providing answers and quashing rumors. And that was one of the questions I had... his thoughts on keeping the railroad running with aging, fragile power that by rights belongs in a museum until they can get new power more suitable for modern railroading. I hope the new management can turn things around because they have a massive rebuilding project in front of them.

With living on these tracks my whole life, I am so glad things are turning around. My son and I still stop and watch any time a train rolls through.

KB, thanks for giving the new mgmt a voice to let folks know that rail service on E&LS is still available. I was getting a bit fed up with other YT'ers and their sanctimonious tone with the rumors thwy were hearing and passing it off as the straight dope. Hoping in 24 months we can look back and be thankful that there are still rails being shined up.

Well this is certainly a fantastic eye opener for all of us who have watched the saga unfold and the multiple ''experts'' who think they can see into the future, painting a grim picture at best, of what the future held for the E&LS.
