I recall a catastrophic, fatal high speed train crash in China, in which, rather than immediately deploying a team of professional accident investigators to the crash site, the authorities sealed it off before sending in heavy lifting cranes and large, earth moving machinery and excavators.

No inspections were carried out to determine the cause of the fatal accident (although a train wheel had fractured), instead, very large holes were excavated beside the crash site, and the train was completely buried.

Chinese authorities had absolutely no interest in determining the cause of the fatal accident, only in quickly hiding any evidence that it had ever taken place!

Because there was no inquiry into the cause of the fatal crash, there was every likelihood of it being repeated without any investigative intervention.

China doesn't care about anything other than their charade of a reputation and status!
