"It's like a helicopter sideways on."
"That's a plane, Gary."

Gary's and Chris' scouting experience completely matches their personalities

‘Shelling a crab’ is an underappreciated joke

That story about Major Bonifas is quite amazing.
Did you know that St. Boniface is best remembered for his felling of Thor's oak near Fritzlar in Germany, almost 1300 years ago.
An amazing coincidence that a man with this name should be killed while also felling a tree.

I won a local area network from Australia.

Its a LAN down under.

13:41 does no one care that that laugh was in sync??

I only barely got Paul Bunyan before Tom said it. I was too busy enjoying the fact that Matt guessed "the one with the stupid hat" and Chris, without bothering to provide a name or ask for clarification, just said "No, he planted trees."

No one's going to see this now, but I'm surprised that the naming of the camp had nothing to do with Saint Boniface, who, among other things, was known for being a saint who chopped down a tree - strange that the guy was also named Bonifas...

3:33  400m south of the southern boundary of the DMZ, so technically it is in the "bottom one", as Matt put it, innit?

I’m a West Yorkshire scout. We called barrels ‘poison ivy’ and one of the scouts broke his arm playing it. This eventually lead to a replacement leader and subsequent banning of it and the boxing glove sand game and some others.

3:50 Matt's Scaly Kettle spotting.

Loved Gary's anecdote about discovering the zoom and loop functions of his DVD player - he's exactly the same on and off camera xD

My grandfather was stationed at an American Air Force base in South Korea shortly after the war. By a string of coincidences the top five commanders were all gone at the same time one day, leaving my grandfather as the highest ranking guy there. And one pilot decided he wanted to go check out a place he'd fought at during the war, so rather than follow the scheduled flight path parallel to the border he decided to fly a B-52 bomber straight towards North Korea. The North Koreans did not appreciate this, and were prepared to shoot it down if it crossed the DMZ. Luckily the base was able to radio the pilot and get him to stop being incredibly stupid and he turned around. And that's how my grandfather helped to stop North and South Korea from going to war again.

"is that a smiley camp guantanamo?" - Matt Gray 2016

Hearing Chris' and Gary's Scouts stories make me feel grateful I only got as far as Cubs.

(1:12) Random fact, Polari has an official ISO 639 code: pld
ISO 639 codes is what is used to define which language to show software in, so you can set your device to Polari, but you'll have to manually define the code pld.

“We’re not from there!” Yet Tom pronounces Z as Zee instead of Zed.

I'm an American and I was indeed yelling "PAUL BUNYAN!" at my screen

"That's a plane, Gary" might be the best line of the season

Me, an American: shouts "PAUL BUNYAN" at my screen at the top of my lungs for a few seconds
