After over a DECADE of Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been announced alongside Mario Kart World! With every single mario kart game that releases since Mario kart ds, a few tracks from the previous mario kart games have also made a comeback. So Today I’m going to look at Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Super Circuit, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to find out which 24 retro tracks I could predict returning in this game! Also these predictions will not include DLC, just base game retro tracks!

Got a lot of questions about Piranha Plant Pipeline from tour so figured I’d talk about it quickly here! I wasn’t really sure what to do with it since it’s not in Mario kart 8, so while I did heavily consider it, I decided to leave it off like the non-Mario tracks since they’re in a bit of a limbo. Wouldn’t shock me if it came back though, along with the non-Mario tracks.

For those who think retros aren’t returning, you’re crazy

A track I would be genuinely be shocked if it didn't appear that you actually didn't include is Piranha Plant Pipeline from tour. That's the only tour track that didn't make it to MK8D, and I feel like is something they'd absolutely want ported over as to preserve it for when Tour eventually shuts down. I'd probably prioritize that over Squeaky Clean Sprint, as that was credited as another MK8D track because it was technically released there a few weeks before it was on tour. Other than that, this feels like a pretty solid list.

I can't believe you forgot about piranha plant pipeline...the ONLY tour track that's not in the booster course pass.

This video was mostly pretty agreeable until the end where i started going insane that you didnt choose Wario Shipyard and even more so when i realized you probably werent going to choose Pirahna Plant Pipeline.

Baby park in mario kart 9 would be a NIGHTMARE! Imagine 24 players in a small oval.

Good news! Airship Fortress and Toad’s Factory is coming back in Mario Kart World! Yippee!

I really want GCN Luigi Circuit. I think the gimmick of having 24 racers going BOTH directions would be fantastic.

Loved watching this after the release because it's so funny in hindsight

I am of the opinion that while it feels like a necessity for some tracks to be remade a 2nd time, anything 8 related should stay in 8. I feel like this new Mario Kart should do whatever it can to differentiate it from the game we've been playing for a decade in anyway possible. I think using any of the DS, Wii or 7 retros (that aren't in 8) along with tracks that haven't been remade yet should give us enough retros to work with.
