Dad’s Army | Room at the Bottom | Classic BBC Comedy | Walmington-on-Sea in Chaos
The Joke Theatre
6,556 views
🎙️ Britain’s bravest (and most bewildered) Home Guard platoon returns in this classic episode of Dad's Army — Room at the Bottom.
Captain Mainwaring and his mismatched band of volunteers face another morale-testing crisis in Walmington-on-Sea. As hierarchy, pride, and petty rivalry bubble to the surface, the platoon proves once again that defending Britain is one thing… but managing egos is quite another.
Led by the pompously patriotic Arthur Lowe as Captain Mainwaring, alongside the ever-loyal Sergeant Wilson played by John Le Mesurier, this episode delivers perfectly timed misunderstandings, class satire, and that uniquely British wartime charm.
🎖️ Packed with sharp writing, unforgettable characters, and gentle World War II-era humour, Room at the Bottom is a shining example of why Dad’s Army remains one of the BBC’s most beloved comedies.
💬 When authority is questioned… can Mainwaring keep control?
