What’s crazy is, I also was not aware that the livestream was going to be a walking billboard. I was asked to join the livestream to help promote “the new Tokyo YouTube space” with no further explanation, so it was quite the shock.
The MCN world was such a pile of 💩 and I’m glad you didn’t get sucked into it, otherwise we wouldn’t have had the Chris we’ve got today. Thanks for the shoutout and for resurfacing those awkward memories 🤣
no, my man literally printed out the comment, with dark mode and everything
I met you in Shibuya on my way to school in 2018, I was starstruck. Please continue your passion for your craft, you inspired me to move to Japan and I’m sure I’m not alone.
- the production quality is so high
- telling your audience about one of the worst things you done takes a lot of courage
- the moral lesson underpinning it all
(- and the sarcastic british humour)
And this video probably couldn’t have come at a better point in my life, thank you for making it!

If I'd told myself all the way back then that I'd still be doing this - and things would turn out all right after all - I think I'd honestly be shocked! Straight after this incident, I suspected I wouldn't last very long. How we got this far I'll never know 😅
Also, I realise it's been a quieter few months than usual. Partly as we have some big, epic videos on the way (including the aforementioned volcano documentary) and partly because I'm working on a new book! All very exciting and as always, hopefully the wait will be worth it! For now though guys, enjoy the video and thanks as always for watching. Now then, I've got a cookbook to learn from.
