I worked with Stevie Ritchie when he was on X Factor. I used to try and get all the inside secrets and goss from him. He told us some stuff in the first couple of weeks but then suddenly became really secretive and wouldn't talk about it, so he had obviously signed a NDA 🤣. He was the friendliest, chattiest, most down to earth person, so it was very out of character and very obvious that he had signed something! Haha. Also, the X Factor production crew came to my work to film him for the show, and the management at my work (I no longer work there because it was awful lol) pretended that he did a completely different job to what he actually did to promote their own breakdown company on national TV!! He worked nights in the call centre, and they pretended he worked as a customer service advisor for the breakdown company so they could promote it 🤦🏼‍♀️. They created a uniform for him and the others (who actually worked for the breakdown company) to wear on TV, with the breakdown company name on, when they had never worn a uniform before! Also, one of the managers, who was the biggest narcissist and desperately wanted to be TV, pretended he worked for the breakdown company as well so that he could get on TV! Unbelievable 🤣

I miss X Factor so much 💔 I just really miss when there was a lot of 'event TV' (I know there is still Strictly, but it feels like that is all that's left). I remember when I had been out clubbing and partying loads and then I'd be like "this Saturday I'm staying in with a takeaway and watching X Factor!" and it felt so good! You'd all go to someones house to watch it. You'd talk about it at work. I absolutely love that people were getting tattoos of Joe McElderry in South Shields 🤣. It's that unifying feel of event TV that I really miss. Netflix and streaming services in general have ruined that. Everyone watches different stuff all the time, so even when there is event TV like Strictly, the whole country isn't watching it because there is so much choice nowadays. I honestly think it was better when we had to watch was on TV so we were all watching the same shows and we all felt more connected.
