After 6 years of owning a CB500X (and a few other bikes before) in 2023 I bought my NC750X DCT. Best deal ever. It's a stealth bike, no noise, no presence, no heads turning. Like me. Serves my commuting purposes and all my long rides for fun. I don't take any pleasure of high speeds, wheelies, 200 decibels or loud bangs. I let those kind of goofy stunts for people wich have something to prove. Not me. Just me alone, the landscape, my thoughts and my 'boring' NC750X DCT. Love it. Thanks, Honda! Great video 🙂🇵🇹👍

Its a motorbike made to do what they used to do back when Honda released the first Dream. It’s to take people from A to B in comfort without breaking the bank. I’m surprised they didn’t put a shaft or belt on it. For those of us who use our bikes as lifestyle accessories or toys it might not ’do it’ but as transportation it’s bloody brilliant. Your point about the DCT is just spot on, it’s for those 45 minute filtering sessions, not the open road on the Sunday with nice weather and nowhere to go.

I’m fairly sure the average NC-rider puts 2-3 as many miles on their bikes as most other ’bikers’ who always find a reason to take the car or stay in or isn’t that cloud looking awfully rainy.

This bike was made for me. Smooth, quiet, sensible.

I've had my 2024 NC for 12 months now and I absolutely love it, it's my daily commute to and from work, my leisurely ride outs at the weekend, I wouldn't change it for anything else.

My 2018 NC750X DCT in candy red is equipped for long-distance non-motorway touring and has racked up 50 000 blissful kilometres without any problem at all. Not one. It has no bad habits, goes where you point it, offers loads of low-down grunt and veritably sips fuel. It's the VW Golf of motorcycling, and I wouldn't be without it. The "Honda Dave" is a brilliant description. People are welcome to laugh as I grin ear-to-ear inside my helmet!

I have the NC750X 2016 model.. & after 10 years it has proved to be super reliable & economical.. the location of the air filter & fuel tank is inconvenient but I guess you get used to it (no bike is perfect) I rode from the east to the west coast of Australia & back over 5 weeks & covered 9,200km & I really can’t fault it.. I have been really happy with the NC…commutes… tours… does everything.. I’m 75,000km in & many more to come…

Had mine 3 years now. Brilliant machine!

The tale that is doomed never to die….

“The NC project leader Uchida made this remark: "I got a hacksaw and cut a Jazz engine in half, but it didn't really run very well so we had to put some more work into the NC700X". It was a throw away remark made half in jest but it has been endlessly repeated because it was made in a room full of journalists and it made it into print and onto the web. That in itself does not make it any more true than it was at the time it was said.

The NC engine and the Jazz/Fit/City engines share virtually nothing in detail. The 270 degree crankshaft arrangement is different, the valve train is different, some are 8 valve heads, some are 16 valve, the fuel delivery system is different, the electrical generating system is different, the water pump is driven differently, etc, etc.”

BTW, I’m on my second NC750X and should I ever decide to change, it’d be for a DCT version.  What stops me?  The rear swing arm is basic - it looks homemade, and the colour pallete, which Honda changes annually, is consistently awful.

Glad I’m not one who has ignored it. I swapped my top heavy 2019 BMW F850GS In 2022 for a new NC750X manual model and love it.

Portugal is filled with these bikes, many people enjoy them from what they are.

on my second NC 750, the do it all bike, turning 70 this year, no need for jetspeed or knee-scraping anymore, I love it, and as you stated in traffic the DCT is perfect!!

not alot of bikes id have faith in getting to 100k miles but the nc is defo one of them, very easy and cheap to service and they just keep going and going, prob helps they dont get thrashed like alot of other bikes but the fact its always there for you and will always start is part of the charm its just a good down to earth workhorse

Well green is actually my favorite :)

Make it red and that's all the excitement I need. Whisper quiet, rock solid reliable, and onboard storage. I just found out about this bike from another YouTube review, and because it's a Honda, I want it. Honda has made a lot of seriously underrated bikes over the years because most USA riders have a problem with practicality and mature decision making. I bet this bike totally rocks.

There's a history page on a Honda web site that explains in a little more detail how they got the NC made. They basically got the idea, the idea was rejected, they built a stealth version and took it to a track demo day for execs, where it was the only one that impressed the execs because it was so different. Luckily for us, they did this, and the execs understood it.

Great video, well said.  If I were commuting every day this would be top of my list.

Great summary of a great little bike. Actually makes me want to go and test ride one now. Thanks

My brother had one for three years and he loved it.
And he's a pretty quick rider.
He just fancied a change, when he moved on

As the NC700xDCT in 2016, this was the fastest, funnest bike I have ever had. I am too old to hold it upright now or I would have one. That fast shifter won me many stoplight races.
