I was born and raised in Chicago . I remember attending Hawks and Bulls games at the Chicago Stadium.  When they built the United Center across the street it was a big upgrade. I'm 58 years old and I've seen the Bulls 6 championships and the Blackhawks 3 of the recent ones.

When you walked inside the atrium, you forgot to bow to the statue….

For as long as I’ve been able to remember Jim Cornielson singing the national anthem in the United Center has given me chills.

Great presentation and in case you and others who view this are not sure of the name of the guy who sang the national anthem, it is Jim Cornelison.

One of the nice things about going to a game at the United Center is that Chicago fans are usually very cool with fans of visiting teams. I’ve been in other arenas, where that isn’t the case. In St. Louis, for example, those fans are real ass hats to fans of visiting teams.

Man how about that national anthem Jim 🦾 tears & chills everytime ‼️

Just for reference, I was at the old Chicago Stadium many times, and although the United Center is a great place, the Stadium was much, much louder and more rowdy during the game.

That walkway upstairs is standing room only.  A great place to be- when you’re in your 20s.

My 2 brothers and I took a NY Islanders road trip to Chicago and the Blackhawk fans were very friendly and hospitable. The arena was beautiful and bigger than  I thought. The entire experience was great. An Islanders 6-2 win was icing on the cake

A Blues v Blackhawks game at the old Chicago Stadium or the Old Arena in St. Louis is a  game every hockey fan should’ve experienced. Back in the 80’s, there were more fights in the stands than on the ice. Good times.

United Center was built in 1994. That large atrium was built only a couple years ago.

Glad you enjoyed visiting! I went to Nashville for the first time a couple weeks ago, but the Preds unfortunately weren’t in town. Definitely would like to catch a game there!

Hawks fan here. My friend and I were at this game; that’s us at 7:35 at the very top. So glad you enjoyed the UC. Not a bad seat in the house. There really is nothing like it!

as a hawks fan glad we are the first original 6 team you visited

go there when the team is really good.  thats when it is really fun

I feel like an old timer. The old stadium was the place. Smaller rink, smoky, gritty, old time hockey.  Every time Garry Unger stepped on the ice the crowd would whistle. Dino's hanging from nooses.

Man i would’ve started the you suck chant when Nashville scored

Hawks fan here, I really appreciate the detail you mentioned in this tour, you helped me a ton in picking out my seat in the upper bowl. I’m glad you enjoyed the united center!!

I was over in Section 110! Really glad you guys had such a great experience. I’m a transplant to Chicago and have only been a Hawks fan for maybe 7-8 years, but the UC game day experience is one of my favorite things in the whole world. It never gets old. It’s all of it — the building, the history, the traditions, the organ, the in-game video packages, etc. But I think the thing I like most is that the games themselves are not overdone or overproduced, kind of like you mentioned in the video. There are no constant air horns, or in-your-face distractions while the game is going trying to keep people’s attention. People are actually genuinely just there to watch the game and cheer on the team. Hope you guys come back down the road. I’m hoping to get to a game down in Nashville as well. Thanks for the vid!
