BTW, when Knuckles says he never sweats due to a glandular problem, he technically being scientifically accurate since Echidnas like him and their Platypus cousins lack sweat glands and “sweat” milk from their teatless underbellies. … Yeah, that’s right. Knux’s species also lay eggs.

The context for that second clip is apparently that Tails split himself into multiple copies so that he could be more efficient, but what he didn’t predict was that his intelligence would also be split among all of his copies, hence the dirt-eating.

5:21 Fun fact, Knuckles actually said "...with me'm! Approved!" in this scene, because he was responding to someone basically saying 'With whom do I speak with?'

So being the lovable dope Knuckles is, he simply decided to add an extra M to the word 'me'.

15:29 From what I have read in other reacts, its the voice actor warming up his voice and they decided to animate it.

Everyone always asks why Tails is licking the wall, but not why there's five of them haha

The Sonic Boom show had the (mis)fortune of sitting at the intersection of a) being a reboot, b) having two godawful, bug-ridden games under the same brand, c) Sega not caring even a little bit, and d) getting a shoestring budget. And yet, by virtue of feeling mostly like people having fun at an improv class, it works, it turned out be a genuinely funny, deeply irreverent and occasionally even clever show and one of the top 3 animated Sonic works,

In one episode Sticks says "we could take a blood oath never to tell a soul"

15:50 that was the pre-recording excercise of the Sonic's VA. The producers recorded it and used like that 😂

11:26  I believe this is a reference to "The Princess Bride" when the Man in Black uses a sleeper hold on the giant Fezzik; after Fezzik succumbs and falls down, the Man in Black checks to see if he's still alive then says "I will not envy you the headache when you awake; but in the meantime, sleep well and dream of large women!"

13:52 Stix is referencing the Nestle scandal.  This episode aired shortly after it came out that Nestle was selling water it got from a spring in a national park in California, and their permit had been expired for over two decades.  So in effect, they were stealing water from the public, to sell it back to the public.

Funfact: the scenes where sonic is making sounds it was the actor making warms ups, they record it without telling him and make it as a scene... Then the one when he mistakes a word too, they keep it even when he messed up...

The part where Amy starts chasing Knuckles and singing is from the first few episodes where Sonic was looking for a new sidekick, Amy would juggle and sing to prove she'd make a good new sidekick and was rejected, so she's now trying to be Knuckles sidekick.

my fave character from this video was prob knuckles, that silly himbo!

The higher ups didn't believe in this show so it allowed the show writers to go ham

1:13 Can confirm, i was the biggest kid in the yard. I got attacked a lot...

This was a tie-in TV show for the Sonic Boom videogame that came out shortly before. The initial pitch was something action-packed like the game. But due to the failure of the videogame and the difficulty of making action scenes look good in such low-budget animation, the show was very quickly retooled into a sitcom.

3:20
Yes, in this series. This is a wildly different take on him than the games, tho

7:54 Funny enough, this clip perfectly encapsulates the apparent way that sonic boom knuckles was handled during development of the show.

It was apparently canon during development that Knuckles brand of stupidity was the kind where he got progressively dumber over time until his intelligence underflowed back around and temporarily made him “the smartest person in the room” thus leading to scenes like this popping up between his bouts of extreme absurdity. (As an added bonus: it’s actually hilarious that they wrote a literal underflow glitch into a video game character.)

I think the writers kind of had full reign
I forget what was happening behind the scenes but I think their newer games at the time weren't doing so well

8:16 Inadvisable choice of words.  If you're lucky he'd ask who.
