Mirabelle's power is to cause people to burst into song just by talking to them

Disney lost the guts to do dark themes like back in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.

"We don't talk about Oscar-ar-ar-ar" doesn't have the same ring to it!

My animation advisor always says “cut your darlings” basically meaning  be willing to scrap your favorite scenes for a better story

Spider man into the spider verse and puss in boots the last wish proved that a kids movie can be as dark as it wants, as long as it has a happy ending. I wish more animated studios did this.

this movie could have been just a tad darker if Disney made Camillo a more promiment character by showing how he struggled to form his own identity since he's been shapeshifting into looking and acting like other people for years which led to him to suffer a existential crisis and feeling like he's never good enough as simply himself.

i think the punk isabéla concept is pretty stupid and makes zero sense for the time period, im glad they cut that lol

Mirabel's door should have been the front door of the house.  Her gift was being the one to inherit the candle from her grandma.

4:39 isn't it confirmed by lin  manuel himself that they change it to bruno because he wants it to rhyme it with the song? We dont talk abour BRUNO NO NO

Two dark for disney?. Do you mean too dark from modern disney.

The twin thing just sounds like the typical good twin, evil twin trope.

Honestly punk-rock Isabella sounds like the Isabella we would have had if granny hadn’t been molding her into the perfect girl and it would have been interesting to have a contrast between those two characters.

The girl with the power to talk to machines is just a redux of the kid from Heroes who had the same power.

I think Mirabel’s door was the front door of the casita

1:58 honestly, I feel like they made the right choice in cutting the twins; their inclusion would have totally undercut Mirabel's and Bruno's character arcs.

Most of these changes are just the basic story drafting changes and have absolutely nothing to do with Disney trying to make the story less dark.

Fuega is not a word. It's Fuego written incorrectly to sound like a girl.

One scrapped concept for Abuela Alma’s backstory included her giving birth to Pepa, Julieta and Bruno at the river the exact moment Pedro died. 🥺

11:55 be completely honest, I would’ve been a lot happier with this scene as I was never really satisfied with her apology.

11:27 i feel like this version would have made her more likable

I could've sworn i remembered hearing about a cut storyline that would've involved Camilo not knowing his own identity and not even knowing if his face we see in the movie was his true face

Man, I miss the classic Disney who was not afraid to adapt Hunchback of Notre Dame. They toned it down compared to the novel of course but it was still dark
