In this video I compare four great hard enduro rear tyres that I have personally ridden on for a combined 100+ hours: Dunlop AT81 EX, Mitas Terra Force EF Super (green stripe), Golden Tyre GT516KE, and Shinko 525 Cheater. I score each tyre on terrain suitability, price, wear, and traction, then give my honest pick for the best all‑round hard enduro rear tyre. If you ride technical single trail, steep climbs, wet roots, logs, mud, and rocky creek beds, this comparison will help you choose the right gummy tyre for your bike and terrain – and avoid wasting money on the wrong compound.
What’s in this video:
• Real-world hard enduro testing on a 300 two‑stroke with Tubliss (2–10 psi)
• 100+ combined hours of riding across all four tyres
• Scoring system out of 40: terrain suitability, price, wear, traction
• Clear recommendation for different riding styles and budgets
Tyres tested:
1) Dunlop Geomax AT81 EX (110/100-18)– premium extreme gummy
2) Mitas Terra Force EF Super Light Green Stripe (140/80-18) – soft extreme enduro
3) Golden Tyre GT516KE (140/80-18) – FIM‑approved enduro with decent wear
4) Shinko 525 Cheater (140/80-18) – budget hard enduro / trail hybrid
Who this is for:
Hard enduro and extreme trail riders on 250–500 cc two‑strokes and four‑strokes. Riders using Tubliss or mousse or anyone running low rear pressures. Anyone deciding between a full “gummy” extreme tyre and a longer‑lasting enduro tyre:

1:48 – Dunlop AT81 EX: grip, wear, price, best terrain
4:33 – Mitas Terra Force EF Super (green stripe): where it shines
6:40 – Golden Tyre GT516KE: durability and value pick
8:25 – Shinko 525 Cheater: budget grip with trade‑offs
10:06 – Final scores and my #1 hard enduro rear tyre
10:54 – #1 Tyre Winner!
11:09 – Next tests: Plews and Michelin Xtrem Enduro
My verdict (spoiler alert…)
For my KTM 300 EXC TBI with Tubliss, the Dunlop AT81 EX is my #1 rear tyre for mixed hard enduro. It gives the best combination of extreme traction, stability, deep tread for roots/rocks/mud, and predictable wear for such a soft compound.
Mostly wet, slow, rooty hard enduro → Mitas Terra Force EF Super
Mixed enduro + longer days, better value → Golden Tyre GT516KE
Budget grip for technical trail / slow hard enduro → Shinko 525 Cheater
Gear & setup mentioned:
Bike: KTM 300 EXC TBI
Rear wheel: 18" with Tubliss system
Pressures: typically 2–10 psi depending on terrain
Tyre sizes tested: 110/100-18 and 140/80-18 (all models)

Ride safe, keep the rubber side down, and I’ll see you on the next one.

Welcome to RUSSSSH HARD ENDURO! 🇦🇺
Just a bunch of weekend warrior mates riding dirt bikes through some of the best (and worst) terrain Australia has to offer.
Expect hard enduro, technical single track, gnarly hill climbs, creek runs, waterfalls, crashes, fails and plenty of 2-stroke madness.
I’m no pro rider. I just love getting out on the bike, pushing myself, exploring new trails and having a bloody good time doing it.
You’ll see plenty of KTM 300s, Beta 300s, Sherco's, Husqvarna's and enduro bikes getting put through their paces in real Aussie terrain.
For me, riding is about more than dirt bikes. It’s getting outdoors, switching off from everything else, challenging myself and sharing lots of laughs with good mates. It's a proper mental health outlet from a demanding work life.
