It's the overlooked classic that made comic book movies cool again, but does it hold up as well as it did back then?

I kinda like that weird fist pump in the opening sequence. It shows that he isn't just a vampire-killing machine, he's also having fun.

"people are going to overlook me when they say Black Panther was the first Black superhero movie"

The introduction of Blade was so visually perfect. Where all the standard vampires are filthy Blade is clean, so god damned clean. They're very animated "dancing" but Blade's movements are all very precise. The contrast is stark and always stuck with me.

Hey nobody mocks Wesley Snipes and his fist pump. It has the same legendary status as Chuck Norris and his beard.

"What are our Plans for comics?"
"Who gives a Sh*t?"
Somewhere, A Minnesotan Geek in a Hat just started weeping and he doesn't know why

I think why Blade didn't cry is a normal thing. I mean, he was raised without parents by a gunslinger that hunt vampires. He also was different from everyone else so that I could imagine how his childhood like. I find that person like this kind of hard to express his condolence.

Even badasses fistpump when they succeed at something difficult

Blade is never late to provide help, nor is he early; Blade arrives precisely when he means to.

"Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate up hill" is something Wesley Snipes said behind the scenes on the phone and a producer heard it. It was so badass that it had to be put in the movie. Its a great line

You know what I find super weird? Not only do the male and female lead not get together at the end of the film, but that they're two BLACK main leads, and the only two back characters besides Blade's mother, and they STILL don't hook up. That's some major 90's Hollywood rule breaking right there.

@minimags6720 6 years ago

Wesley Snipes actually uses that quote, "Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice-skate uphill", in his REAL life....WAY before he starred in Blade. It's just a more awesome way of saying, "Pick your battles wisely....your consequences might outweigh your rewards."

That club theme is dope, I don't even care

@freman007 8 years ago

Wesley Snipes made the character his own. I can't really see another actor playing Blade.

Remember everyone, this was the film that resurrected Marvel and the comic book genre. Without Blade there is no Iron Man, there is no Dark Knight, and there is no Catwoman, okay the first two make up for the third.
