Hansi Flick is building something seriously dangerous at Barcelona.
Barcelona have started the season with incredible attacking numbers, but the biggest change might actually be happening without the ball. Flick’s side are conceding fewer chances, controlling transitions better and finding new ways to protect their aggressive high line — all without sacrificing their attacking identity.
In this video, we break down how Rodri is changing Barcelona’s midfield structure, his partnership with Pedri, the tactical role of João Cancelo, and why Flick now has significantly more attacking options with Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi and Gabriel Jesus.
We also look at how Barcelona have addressed some of the problems that hurt them previously, why their improved squad depth could be crucial over a full season, and the one area that could still leave Flick’s system vulnerable.
Is this finally the most complete version of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona?
Watch until the end as we break down exactly why this new system could become a serious problem for the rest of Europe.

A CDM's role is one of the hardest and most tactically demanding positions on the pitch, and he makes it look effortless. The guy is a baller through and through.
