Why do the Churchill impersonations consistently crack me up? I am so childish.

But Jimmy, everyone knows he fights a great defensive campaign in Italy!

I can't believe that General Von Klinkerhoffen didn't make the list

Hi, I really enjoy your videos but wish you would consider adding images to your older (audio only) podcasts. I would certainly watch them and might not be the only one. All the best.

Model also defined his defensive style as schwer und schweldt (sword and shield) and was taken from ww1. I feel quite sorry for Model even though he was complicit.

Let's have a game of German General Bingo!

Maybe Kesselring was secretly working for the Allies.

Model also counter-attacked after Market Garden. The Battle of Nijmegen Salient is little known. In the battle Horrocks’s XXX corps (two divisions) defended the liberated area against two SS Panzerkorps and Fallschirmkorps - a total of six divisions (though understrength) - and came out victorious. 9th SS Panzer Division “Hohenstaufen” lost almost all its fighting vehicles.

Model bled the 3rd panzer army white north of moscow in 42 and his attack at kursk a disaster

Not clear if 'Generals' includes Navy & Air Force. If it does then who creates the biggest problem in the West for the Allies? It's Admiral Karl Donitz.

OK, Al at 11 minutes and 50 seconds give or take a little bit you baited Jim and he jumped all over it. I can hear you laughing in the background under your breath.

@PalleRasmussen 1 year ago

Rommel was a just above average, typical German general. The best was Balck.

But where are the Italians gents?

@MegaBloggs1 1 year ago

No Manteufeull was better, Manstein was a great strategist maybe not as good as rommel in armoured warfare tactics

@safpsy 2 months ago

Rommel was involved in war crimes, albeit to a lesser extent than other German military commanders.

No sure the Pour Le Merite is an apples to apples comparison to the VC in all cases as some times it was given leadership or accomplishments, but not necessarily bravery in battle.. Perhaps more equivalent to the DSO or definitely to the WW2 Knights Cross.
