Those goosebumps is our ancestors reaching out to your ancestral bloodline,  we all speak the same energy with different languages, absolutely love your reaction my bro.

A leading African American gentleman recently made a statement after hearing and seeing Maori performance for the first time saying. It touched his Sprit in a way that he'd never experienced in his lifetime, further saying he believed that his African ancestors were being channeled through The Maori people to awaken the African American people to their own heritage.

For reference the song is about remembering and holding reverence for loved ones who have passed on, and asks for divine compassion
to lessen the heaviness of grief.
I love when they turn their backs and walk away it's like the ancestors are walking back to the other side, absolutely beautiful ❤️

One of the biggest things I’m grateful for is being Māori.

The wiri (hand movements) represents the vibrations of life, movement of the winds, the flow of the ocean tides....just a small explanation...

I’m a New Zealander, although not Maori myself, and it’s such a rich beautiful part of this country.  So cool to see you giving such a positive reaction to it.  We are United around the world with love and music!  🥰

Beautiful isn’t it, exactly what you’re feeling is exactly how it’s meant to be received

I was blessed enough to be in the crowd for that performance. You could have heard a twig breaking in the woods, the silence that enveloped the thousands of people on the hill, surrounded by Pukekura and Taranaki maunga... that moment will stay with me forever. It was truly special.

Brother… you may think you dont understand but you do… your spirit feels it and understands it… whether we realise or not.. all us Indigenous worldwide are connected… 💯💯 Im Maori too.

Love your reaction. Te Matatini (the name of the competition) happens every 2 years. This year was our biggest competition having 55 teams (broken down into 4 pools) take the stage over 4 days. The top 3 groups from each pool are announced then those top 12 teams battle it out on finals day for the top prize. Hope this kinda helps. Arohanui (lots of love) from Aotearoa, NZ

some Native Americans and Hawaiiains were  at Te Matini this year and the Native American had learned some te reo maori our language , Te Matatini means the many faces , the festival of many faces

Today is Matariki (Maori New Year) here in Aotearoa so it's very appropriate that I found you on this day. Thanks for the appreciation of our country's beautiful people and culture.

When Māori shake their hands it's a sign of life. For when we're standing still we're not just standing we're alive, it's also called a wiri, thank you for embracing my culture 🤍

Im Māori, You're feeling the wairua - the spirit..   you can feel your ancestors ❤

Love the Love. Swear the rest of the world likes Te ao maori more than New Zealanders

The Maori people are incredible...They are warriors in the truest sense.  Do your research and you'll be hooked. I have nothing but love and respect for these people.  ☮️❤️🇬🇧

Damn, I'm feeling your feels brother. I'm Maori.. Proud you appreciate a part of our culture.

Mauri Ora

I've been in tears since I've seen the original video. I WANT THIS. I WANT to be in a community of people, just singing our hearts out. I miss this.

I'm a new zealander and this stuff your watching is an annual competition between the tribes of new zealand for performance... but most of all it reminds us of the beauty of the Moari culture within our country it truly is beautiful  and must be protected at all costs ....

We in Aotearoa take our brilliant kapa haka for granted and it's nice to have someone like you remind us of what we have. This group did not get the judges vote but they won the hearts of our people and took out the Peoples' Choice Award. The award that really matters - just absolutely stunning. Btw, the shaking of the hands is called the wiri and signifies the shimmering of water, heat waves, or the rustling of leaves.
