The thing about creativity is, for some people, the creating and working out all of the details. Once that is done, a person could lose interest and move on to the thing they already have worked out in their mind while losing interest in the original work.

I am not an artist. However, I am a lover of nature, and wildlife. I have, in my time, had twenty years of experience keeping ferrets as pets.
Although Ermine is a member of the Mustaelid family, the animal in the artwork called 'Lady with an Ermine' does not look like one.
Ermine is the winter coat of the Stoat. Notable of the Stoat is the tip of the tail and nose remain black in it's winter coat. It also has black eyes.
None of these features are exhibited in this painting. However, the creature bares a striking resemblance to an Albino Ferret. The pink eyes, pink nose.
The size is also wrong. The portrayed animal is too large for a stoat, either that, or the lady was very petite.
My unprofessional conclusion is that it is her pet Albino Ferret.

I thought this was supposed to be about Leonardo . There was more about Vincent than Leonardo…. Poles apart!

What has occured to me about Leonardo is that the ephemeral nature of a lifetime is in your face.

It’s not that they still amaze us. It’s simply that the media mostly talk about them. They long ago lost their meaning as artists; their images have become branded commodities, created for the market and for making money—through films / documentary series / books filled with conspiracies, myths, and legends.
They are viewed more as a commercial brand than as artists. If they could see today what is being written and said about them, they probably wouldn’t even recognize themselves, nor realize it was supposed to be about them at all.

Fine with mobility but I was told your fine pulling but pushing should be in front of the neck. Again if you have the flexibility and mobility you should be fine.

Leonardo was a leftie and his paintings have been attributed to him by the direction of his brushstrokes. Couldn’t you have had the actor painting as Leonardo at least be left handed?

I love both van Gogh and Gaugin - they are both passionate painters and indeed very different.
I would have loved a slower tempo to Watch the paintings deeply - and I found the dramatic Music uncessessary and maybe being partly the cause of the fast tempo - but still very interesting and beautifull to Watch 🙏 🧡💛🤎🩶💚🖤

These folks really don’t know that in Arl the sunflowers are grown commercially for cooking oil? Guess they’ve never been.
And the iris is truly his flower. It is of the north as is he.

If Calandra knows so much about Leonardo why does she call him 'da Vinci'?

@natasha3518 11 months ago

when you lable something as Leonardo Da Vinci keep it to his work only van Gogh is not a leonardo nor is his work worthy to stand next to leonardos they are to very different people and have tow different styles this should be labled as both artist and tbh leonardo could have been left out as it was mostly a van gogh talk which has now bored me

...and now Vincent has inspired a new artistic rarity to spread his wings and doff his cap to Vincent. Ren Gill recently released his 2 cinematic songs of *Vincent's Tale - Sunflowers-Prologue, and *Vincent's Tale - Self Portrait. There will be more to come in his Vincent's Tales series, as he explores the artistic inventiveness and mental instabilities with each Tale inspired by a painting of Van Gogh's.

Thanks for this. It is a shame that few remember the world's other greatest minds (apart from Leonardo) such as Hero of Alexandria, Archimedes and Ctesibius. Did they paint like Leonardo? I know not, but I am sure they each had brilliant minds to equal that of Da Vinci.

Leonardo was more of a scientific magician than an artist. He didn’t let things flow freely in the way a true artist would. Every brush stroke, every sketch, every composition was thought out and considered. With a curious and vibrant brain as his, nobody needs to be an artist to create the creations he formed
