"Jack O'Neill was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!" -- pretty much

RDA doesn't get enough credit for his acting. He's great in this episode, portraying confusion, pain, concentration etc very well.

“Pop right into my fron” and “bend your kozars” still live rent free in my head all these years later 😂

The thing that impressed the Asgard the most, was that his subconscious was somehow able to piece together the information from the database download and get himself to the only place where he could potentially survive.

Jack having a MaGyver flashback.

When you think about it. This one episode is one of if not THE most important episode to the Lore of the entire franchise. Amcients, the language (which alone streches all the way to the Destinty), the steps to become the 5th race, ZPM's, the powers of the ancients, the gate using more chevrons etc...etc...

4:55 Jack is looking at Daniel like "bro ,what did you expect? Also I built a DIY ZPM what more do you want?"

Jack making a poor man's ZPM

This episode did so much in setting up the foundation of some of the best plotlines and worldbuilding this series would see. One detail i love is they used the ancient repository as a way to input new gate addresses into the system to explain and give more variety in the worlds and stories they could tell as before with the Abydos Cartouche it pretty much set them into a path of going to worlds either effected, controlled or have interacted with the Goa'uld in some way. This opened up the universe even more and let them explore without always pretty much walking into enemy territory.

It might help if a scientist or engineer watched him instead of a medical doctor if you want to follow what he's doing.

Falatus - Faculatus.  Faculties.  Facility.  Ability.
I love this show.
"I've lost the falatus to speak."

MacGyver got leveled up.

if you thought welding something with two quarters and a car battery was impressive just wait till I get this ancient alien technology figure it out. and the funniest part is I don't even know what I'm doing!

"I think he wants to finish this" - Daniel really is a one-in-a-generation level genius :D

Something to think about is if they had let Jack finish typing in the code into the computer how much more information would he have put in there that they missed out on getting

Now THIS was a show. He built a ZPM! Someone else (Orlon ?) built a Stargate in Carters basement! All important terms and concepts integral to the show. Just amazing how it all tied together across 3 shows! And it should have continued on....what a shame and loss for us

JACK O'NEIL! built a zpm in a med lab with a box of scraps!

This is one of the best SG1 episodes.

That no one bothered to record that god damn homemade zpm being build, is driving me mad.
This would have been so helpful during the later seasons and in Atlantis

Jacks just casually adding a 8th chevron to travel millions of lightyears in a matter of seconds 🤣

I love when he is "McGvering"...
