Well, armies do get defensive since BTS have been a victim of disrespect and racism for many years yet no one cares other than armies but some armies do cross some limits. Not all armies though.

BTS has wide range of fans,  From children to old people.
The fandom started to get real toxic after their sudden surge of popularity in 2020. And I think we are aware of "the higher the quantity, the less the Quality"
As a army of 7 years, I can say the fandom is really fun but the toxic ones are the loudest. And we can't do anything about it rather then hoping that they grow tf up

There are Original Normal Bts armies, theres toxic armies then comes the influencers or people who r saying they r bts fans for views  or go to their concerts  for views 😂

ARMY is the biggest fandom in the world, and with such a large group of people, toxic ones are bound to stand out more than the normal ones.

As an army of 5 years, your review is great about the toxic fans! There are worse incidents of toxic fans, unfortunately,  but the thing is, most of the crazy ones are young teenage girls, writing questionable fanfictions, overly sexualizing the members, especially Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook (even though some of the members explicitly stated that they do not appreciate it) , creating fanwars, romantically shipping two members, like honestly delusional and disgusting to other army's who have different opinions, but it is to be noted that majority of bts fans are adults with full time job and has a life outside them lmao (including myself) that is why bts tops on album sales and world tours, because most of us earn enough money to spend on things we like, there are even army's in their 60s, we do not make loving bts our entire personality, so we do not engage in a lot of contreversies as we do not have time to lol, we love them, do great things under their name, we have done a lot of charity work under bts's name, most of us are super chill people, it is the loud minority, parasocial teens and early adults who are causing all the drama, that is not just for bts, it applies to all celeb's. I personally listen to their music, watch their content, and do not engage in any unnecessary drama created for clout. Most of us are waiting for BTS to announce their partners so that we can have a huge fandom cleanse 😭😭
Because these 7 are genuinely kind men who have done so much kind stuff and helped a lot of people when they were struggling, I was not in a great place mentally when I found bts, but I have to admit, they were a huge part of my journey to heal, reflect, accept, and love myself, their music and story were always so inspiring, resonating, comforting, and I have met some of the nicest people because of bts.

The one thing i realised is that with the things kpop fans do, if they put all that energy into something that mattered, they'd be so much further in life.

Honestly, some of this is amusing and other parts are just plain disturbing. Why do we have to idolize anyone? While I am an ARMY, I don’t worship the ground any of the members walk on. I just really connect with their music. Some people really need to go out and touch grass. We have to be our own arbiters of right and wrong, with the ability to adapt and change when needed. We are all very flawed human beings, and all of our days are numbered. Spending time being toxically obsessed with ANYONE- and this has been going on in many fandoms for decades-is a pathetic and tragic waste of time. Life is precious, people! Go out and live it. 🙏🏽

as an army, this vid was actually really good! even we hate those stalkers and obsessive fans. also i think it needs to be said that MOST HATE towards bts stems from racism and xenophobia by locals and inferior complexity as well as jealousy by other kpop fans. i absolutely agree that bts has done problematic shit in the past, but theyve been held accountable and have improved themselves and learnt from their mistakes an never repeated such stuff.

im so glad that finally someone is talking about it, i myself as an ARMY understand this very much, people are using them and the title of being an ARMY to create an image of toxic fanbase but fi i see my fav idols doing something wrong i will not defend them, neither will i talk against them , they're humans and they do mistakes too, and if someone doesn't like their music its their own taste preference i am no one to hate on them. people just need to understand that this behavior is not only making everything so messed up but is also ruining idols mental health and image

People, especially some ARMYs, need to understand that when someone says they don't like BTS, they're talking about the music—not attacking the members or the fans. Not everyone enjoys the same artists, and that's completely normal. Saying "BTS isn't for me" doesn't mean someone is hateful or jealous. We just have different tastes, and people should be able to express that without being attacked.
Another issue is fan behavior. Every fandom has respectful fans and obsessive fans, but when fans cross the line, they should be called out instead of defended. Idols and entertainment companies should continue encouraging fans to respect boundaries and stop obsessive behavior. We've seen celebrities in different entertainment industries publicly tell fans to stop invading their privacy, and I think that's an important message.

The breast cancer awareness event about a year ago is another example that really disappointed me. Some ARMY members who attended were dancing, drinking alcohol, and treating the event like a celebration or an awards show instead of showing respect for an event focused on breast cancer awareness, survivors, and those who lost their lives to the disease. Behaviour like that deserves criticism. What also frustrates me is that when some fans behave in insensitive or disrespectful ways, instead of calling them out and saying, "This isn't okay," some people try to cover up or excuse their mistakes. That's not how a healthy fandom should work. If someone is wrong, they should be held accountable regardless of which fandom they belong to. At the end of the day, liking BTS is a personal choice, and not liking BTS is also a personal choice. Respect should go both ways. People should be free to enjoy what they like, and others should be free to say, respectfully, "It's just not for me," without being harassed.

I think being this much obsessed with celebrity is weird, listening to the music is one thing but being so obsessed with some stranger's personal life is just stupid
